FROM RWASHAMAIRE TO THE WORLD.

I grew up in Rwashamaire. Never did I imagine that one day people would travel from across Uganda and soon, the world to visit my hometown because of coffee.

Today, the @AfriCoffeePark is already changing lives.

Thousands of jobs are being created directly and indirectly. Local businesses are growing. Hotels, transport operators, traders, mechanics, boda bodas, restaurants, and suppliers are all benefiting from an economy that simply didn't exist a few years ago. The ripple effect is real.

But the biggest winner must always be the Ugandan coffee farmer.

For decades, our farmers produced one of the world's best coffees, yet earned the smallest share of its value. The Africa Coffee Park is changing that equation by ensuring more coffee is processed, branded, and sold right here in Uganda creating greater demand for farmers' coffee and unlocking better prices over time.

And this is only the beginning.

The vision is to help position Uganda as a global leader in value-added coffee, generating over US$5 billion within the next five years while keeping more wealth, jobs, and opportunities at home.

Perhaps what excites me most is this, it's no longer a promise.

Walk into supermarkets across Uganda today, and you'll find Ugandan-made coffee products from the Africa Coffee Park proudly on the shelves. That moment says everything. We are no longer just exporting coffee we are exporting Ugandan brands, Ugandan innovation, and Ugandan pride.

If one investment can transform a town like Rwashamaire, imagine what similar value-addition projects could do for every agricultural region in Uganda.

Is this the model that can finally change Uganda's economy from exporting raw materials to exporting finished products?
