It was another wonderful GVXC Alumni run today. Maybe our best turnout ever. We had alumni going back to ‘05 and ‘08, along with a group of current, and maybe even future Vikings runners!
Great to see how the grads are doing and share classic stories and memories!

Congratulations to GVXC Alumni Ryan Kredell and his Villanova Wildcats on their 2nd place NCAA Regional finish qualifying them for the National Championships on Nov. 18th in Charlottesville, VA. Ryan was the Wildcat’s #3 runner finishing 21st.

Throwback to when our teams would compete in the Nike North Side vs. South Side competition on Chicago Marathon Sunday on the actual marathon course! They would run the last 2.6 miles!

Theme Thursday started of strong this season with cutoff day!
It was also great to have The Man, The Myth, The Legend, Coach Bob Thomson come by for practice today. He has been around the sport of XC for over 40 years and still is a passionate supporter of the team. GVXC💙

As fast as he was (and he was really fast) he was an even better person and teammate with a positive spirit that made everyone better around him.
He still has the 2nd fastest 3 mile XC time - 14:41 and holds the 4x8 (7:45) and 1600m (4:07) school records.
