From my latest Houston Chronicle op-ed: "For Republicans, the math is simple. The Railroad Commission has three members; losing one means there’s still a Republican majority and nothing changes about how Texas is governed.
On the other hand, give Bo French a statewide platform for six years to make his politics the party’s brand, and Republicans will spend the next decade losing elections they should win."
Opinion | A blank line on the race for railroad commissioner is not a gift to Democrats — it is a quarantine that saves our own party, writes Garrett W. Fulce. https://t.co/8xII823rAd
Thank you @gwfulce for having me on to discuss putting Texas resources to work, developing our critical mineral supply chain, and protecting Texas land along the border.
We covered a lot of ground, including how the @TXGLO is helping strengthen American energy and national security. Give it a listen! 🌟🏞️
This week we have @DrBuckinghamTX on the show! She walked @gwfulce through Texas' discovery of one of the world's largest rare-earth deposits and how the @TXGLO is developing it.
Also got into the Alamo rebuild and the border wall fight in Big Bend. New episode is up now.

“A blank line on one race is not a gift to the Democrats; it is a quarantine that saves our own party.”
So true.
The UT-Austin football photo controversy, which has unmasked a really ugly identitarian subcurrent on the right, is deeply ironic. The right-leaning legal movement—conservatives and libertarians—spent decades fighting to defeat the principle that universities should admit students based on race. Texas was even an important battle in this war! In Fisher v. Texas, the right lost, and the Court let the university keep picking kids based on skin color, in 2013 and 2016.
Flashforward to 2023, and finally, the right wins: After SFFA v. Harvard, the Court says no more race-conscious admissions. Unfortunately for Bo French and his identitarian ilk, preventing universities from advantaging certain minorities does not only and always benefit white students. But this is what race-neutrality looks like: plenty of Asian and Indian overrepresentation.
At some point, if you're against progressive admissions officials privileging certain minorities, and you're also against race-blind policies under which other minorities do well, you are basically just outing your movement as white nationalist and shouldn't complain when you are denounced as such.

I've been saying this about the top of the ticket for months now, it's the apparatus that put Ken there that needs to be made no longer relevant in order to save Texas from turning into Arizona
Do you understand how bad you have to mess up for major outlets to be doing primetime interviews with DEMOCRATIC candidates for THE TEXAS RAILROAD COMMISSION
