Calling all #gamedev.s and games workers!
Our friends at @uniglobalunion want to learn more about the long hours and heavy workloads that have been associated with the gaming industry.
Please share your thoughts in this quick and confidential survey: https://t.co/Amz4JPZuyW

GWU Sweden was interviewed by Flamman, who wanted to get an insight into the work environment and problems in the Swedish game industry.

Bobby Kotick, Given your visible stance to bettering ABK and the working conditions within for the benefit of your employees, are you prepared to voluntarily recognize a union formed by those workers, so that they can hold you accountable to your commitments?
While today was a huge win for us, we remain vigilant and continue to push for other industry practices that need to change. We still stand firm by our demand that the investigation must be done by an unbiased third party, of which WilmerHale is not one.
Today was a huge win for ABK Worker's Alliance! Forced arbitration has been removed for cases that deal in sexual harassment and discrimination. The company announced they will raise the number of women and non-binary people it employs by 50% 💙 https://t.co/N6ZGkUIsiA
🇬🇧📣 Ubisoft chooses PR stunts over actions! For over a year, STJV members at Ubisoft have had to face a management team that refused to make any concession, although it is itself responsible for many of the company’s ills.

Silencing and discriminating employees is unacceptable. If you are experiencing this behaviour - contact your union. GWU Sweden is available for game workers in Sweden to discuss any potential unlawful behaviour.

The survey summary that leaked from Paradox Interactive shows that the game industry still has a problem with inappropriate behaviour. Please know that you are always welcome to join GWU Sweden to discuss your workplace conditions and get support from other game workers.
The Organizational Transitional Period Committee, composed of the local chapters of Game Workers Unite and in charge of GWU's restructuring for the past 6 months, will now be running this Twitter account.
We will continue to listen to the conversations happening inside and around GWU International. And as GWU Sweden comes into its own, we commit to promote and uphold anti-racism along with workers’ rights, because they cannot be separated.
Events took place on the international level of @GameWorkers last fall that our chapter is only now learning about. It is both heartbreaking and infuriating to hear the stories coming forward and we cannot stand for it. Harassment and racist abuse are unacceptable.
The lack of diversity in our ranks (both as an industry, and as an organisation) is something that we must admit, but not be comfortable with. How we treat those that are marginalised is of the utmost importance, and we must counteract the structures we operate from.
Behind the cute aesthetic, malicious bosses.
Devastated to announce that the Chair of @GWU_UK was targeted for union organising & fired by their employer @ustwogames.
No, our movement will NOT be bullied! Our fight for rights will NOT be stopped! #NotUs2

In a crunch? @Unionen has compiled some information regarding what's what with overtime and Swedish law.
Some of our kind members have translated the text into English as well.
