With all due respect, the Turks were nomadic barbarians from the steppes who converted to Islam, conquered the region (Seljuk Empire) and eventually settled in Anatolia, a land whose original inhabitants were the Orthodox Christian citizens of the Byzantine Empire.
These citizens were Greeks, Pontics, Cappadocians, and Armenians.
They NO LONGER live in Anatolia; many were killed or forced to convert to Islam. The rest were deported to the Balkans during the population exchange (1914 to 1924) that happened after the Balkan states acquired their independence. These deportations were a part of a larger series of massacres and forced conversion during the twilight of the Ottoman Empire and the birth of modern Turkey.
To claim Turkey had nothing to do with imperial and colonial ventures is silly! But of course, most modern Turks trace the majority of their ancestry to the conquered and converted populations, so perhaps their claim of being indigenous to Anatolia is a bit grey.

Hey ESPN,
Any reason you post about Muslims praying but you won’t post a SINGLE time about the USMNT praying after every match?
I’m sure it’s not because of an agenda or anything... Probably just a mistake, right?
