Nobody is “reducing it to evil mother” because they enjoy kicking a sick woman. They’re reacting to three kids who were strangled in their own basement.

You can argue the system failed her. You can argue the meds were a mess. You can argue postpartum psychosis is real. None of that turns the person who killed Cora, Dawson, and Callan into the primary victim of the story.

A lot of women get bounced between providers, get over-prescribed, get worse, and still do not murder their children. “She asked for help” is not a spell that converts filicide into a policy seminar. The kids don’t come back because the mental health system is sloppy.

If the only way you can talk about this case is by lecturing people who are horrified by what she did, you’re not preventing the next one. You’re just making the dead children secondary to her narrative.
