Georgia Republicans have delivered historic income tax relief for four consecutive years under the leadership of @GovKemp!
Proud to join him today as he signed additional income and property tax relief into law for hardworking Georgians.
If you missed it yesterday, Gov. Kemp signed HB 987, sponsored by @turntotodd
This is an innovative policy to make it easier for independent contractors to save money for benefits like health care insurance and retirement savings.
This will help keep Georgia’s economy and workforce strong and vibrant. #gapol
The House is looking forward to continuing our work delivering real, meaningful results on the issues that matter most to the people of Georgia.
Thank you to each of these members for their willingness to serve on our House Blue-Ribbon Study Committees throughout the interim.
Congressman David Scott served our state with dignity and honor for many decades, including in the General Assembly before his congressional tenure.
As House Agriculture chairman, he gave voice to Georgia’s No. 1 industry and our farmers. Republicans and Democrats alike considered him a dear friend, and today, we’re praying for his family’s peace and comfort.
A tradition unlike any other and a deadline you don’t want to miss.

@ScottHiltonGA's HB 1009 received final passage today, making Georgia’s middle and high school classrooms cell phone-free by the 2027 school year.
The House was proud to champion this measure to help students focus on learning and prioritize face time over screen time.
LISTEN: @TonyWestAFP spoke in favor of HB 1116, which would bring Truth in Taxation to Georgia, providing greater transparency when property tax increases are proposed.
“The reforms in this bill will provide a sustainable solution to Georgia’s property tax burden by promoting transparency and helping all of us be more informed and engaged citizens regarding local property tax decisions.”
Every House Republican today voted to suspend the state gas tax for 60 days to relieve hard-working Georgians getting squeezed by high prices at the pump.
We’re answering the call to address cost of living concerns.
Georgia is home to 13 active military instillations, including Robins AFB.
Protecting our nation and state from foreign influence should be bipartisan & common sense, something House Democrats seem to be lacking this session.
Because of our proximity to Robins AFB, national security means local security for Middle Georgia. Yesterday Republicans voted to prevent hostile foreign actors from influencing Georgia’s elections. Our friends across the aisle voted no.

A child not reading on grade level by third grade will face major roadblocks to success. We know how to fix it, just like Mississippi did. The House GOP has delivered a scientifically proven plan to improve literacy outcomes. We MUST pass and fund it this year. Our kids can’t wait. https://t.co/cuvHW4GsP1
We haven’t stopped fighting for the taxpayers crying for property tax relief.
When Democrats obstructed a plan to dramatically lower property tax with voters’ approval, we kept pressing.
Tonight, on near-unanimous party lines, House Republicans delivered legislation that caps property tax increases at 3% and requires local governments to provide written notice of tax increases by mail to every parcel owner.
Tax dollars belong to the hardworking Georgians who earned them.
That’s why the House was proud to pass HB 880, which would reduce the state income tax rate to 3.99 percent and deliver nearly $2.9 billion in annual relief to Georgia taxpayers.
The women of the House Majority Caucus are leading the effort to deliver meaningful policy for women, families, and children across our great state.
✅ Increased maternal leave for state employees
✅ Expanded access to contraceptives
✅ Increased access to affordable child care
Georgians are demanding property tax relief and state Democrats voted down the HOME Act, which fully funds education and necessary local services while slashing your property tax.

📺 WATCH: State House Democrats embarrass themselves as @JonBurnsGA exposes their hypocrisy on tax relief.
Democrats are playing games. Republicans are protecting your family budget.
Talk about political theatre. Democrats say taxes for thee, but not for me.
Call your state Rep and tell them to vote for the HOME Act - the only property tax relief plan that fully funds education and gets runaway tax bills under control.
Today, we voted on a measured plan toward eliminating property taxes while fully funding schools, cities & counties.
Seniors, renters & first-time buyers are being priced out due to skyrocketing property taxes.
The measure failed as Democrats voted against lowering your taxes.
