🚨 | Big numbers incoming for Ferrari. The new engine paired with Shell's updated fuel could halve the power gap to Mercedes. The Scuderia is just waiting on FIA sign-off to bring it to Austria, where they'll push the "hot" cylinder head concept even further.
Ferrari's steel alloy head already runs combustion temperatures well above the norm, with intake air hitting the intercooler at over 100°C compared to 60-70°C on conventional designs. From Austria, that ceiling rises past 115°C.
Combined with the bespoke fuel, the higher temperature and pressure in the chamber lets the engine burn more fuel particles per cycle, meaning more efficient combustion, fewer emissions and that extra power Ferrari have been chasing.

PEE- FUCKING ONE MAN. LET'S GO!!!!
He deserves this. On the back foot, missing a session, struggling in FP2. Got thrown a bone with the VSC but made the most of it. The pace on the last stint was absolutely sensational. Shows the importance of positioning yourself well.
And a huge congrats to the team on the awesome upgrades too. The big step ahead in the low fuel pace looks to have been taken. They handled the pressure sublimely, 5 clean stops without a hiccup in the strategy.
A similar step with the engine and were right in the fight.
Forza Lewis. Forza Ferrari.
Uncomfortable truth for Charles - he's making mistakes but Lewis is exerting pressure with his driving. Charles is looking at his data and trying to replicate it and can't. He knows Lewis is getting better and better every race.
🚨 | NEW: Ferrari's engine is understood to be over 4% slower than Mercedes.
This means Ferrari are eligible for two mid-season power unit upgrades.
The first could arrive as early as Austria.

#F1 | According to Motorsport Italy, Ferrari is expected to bring two (2) engine upgrades with the approval of the ADUO.
The team expects around 25 more horsepower and the plan is to reduce the gap by half with ADUO 1 and hopes to reach Mercedes’ engine level with ADUO 2.
Rumours say the first ADUO could be coming in Austria and the second one after the summer break.
no wonder lewis said he doesn’t want to change his team. i mean the level of dedication is insane… look at his mechanic basically caressing the tyre like it’s a fragile newborn…probably whispering “you’ve got this buddy”
