Augusta TC recently celebrated the achievements of 60 students who completed the Work Readiness class through @wiregrasstech . This program enhances job readiness skills and helps returning citizens improve their marketability in the workforce. Additionally, residents of Atlanta TC participated in the "Money Talks" Financial Literacy Class, hosted by the Georgia Secretary of State's Office. In this class, students received instruction on budgeting, saving, investing, maximizing income, credit and loans, retirement planning, entrepreneurship, and starting a small business. @ACAinfo@CLALeadership

As part of @Ga_Corrections partnership with the High Museum of Art, GDC leaders had the opportunity to visit the Museum to view artwork featured in the Educational Art Exhibit, including pieces created by individuals in our custody.
This partnership highlights the power of art as a form of expression, creativity, and growth, and through this collaboration, participants will receive certificates and support with art supplies to continue developing their talents. GDC Headquarters was proud to host its 12th annual Fishing Rodeo this past Saturday at Lake Camaru at State Offices South at Tift College, welcoming more than 125 children and families for a day of fun, connection, and community. A special thank you to everyone who donated toys, fishing rods, and their time to help make this event so meaningful. Your generosity and support created lasting memories and reminded us of the power of coming together to invest in our youth and strengthen our community.

Recently, 20 offenders at the Bacon Pre-Transitional Center completed a three-week framing course offered by @wiregrasstech. This initiative utilized a mobile training unit to provide instruction in fundamental framing skills, during which offenders also earned OSHA 10 certifications.
