Interesting study on virtual walk-in visits in adults during the pandemic with some interesting findings to consider when evaluating pediatric virtual care. @dr_nr_saunders@dreyalcohen@AstridGuttmann
Lots of recent discussion on changes to virtual billing codes in ON
It's a good time to share research led by @LapointeShaw

We now know that QI initiatives aimed at reducing unnecessary x-rays in children presenting to EDs should target and adapt their interventions to EM physicians practicing in EDs primarily treating adult patients.
I'm pleased to share this 🧵 summarizing our study in @CMAJOpen on practice variation around low-value x-ray use for common pediatric conditions in Ontario emergency departments (ED) 1/X @SickKidsNews@dreyalcohen@DrJFriedman@dr_nr_saunders
https://t.co/swCiFZNeIF
We found that x-ray use was ⬆️ in providers trained in adult settings. This could result from differences in training/experience, or cognitive biases caused by the fact that adults presenting to EDs are sicker and more likely to have abnormal x-ray findings than children. 7/X
