his Dr is pleased with the results. Dusky is on his way home tonight and now comes the recovery journey. Thank you Dr. Thomas for giving this old dog a few more years of quality of living. I can give more details after I review his reports.

We sure don't do anything with gusto! Including blowing out knees. Dusky broke both his knee ligaments which is why he was non bearing. He needed the TPLO surgery as well as the Latteral Suture surgery as a reinforcement. Dusky did very well during surgery and
TPLOs yet I worry a dog with one leg that is operated on will be a significant challenge to not "ruin" his recovery from too much stress on his one and only recovering leg. However if anyone can do it, we can. Keep him in your thoughts today.
Medical PupDate:
Duskys surgery should begin any minute now. The doctor said his knee was "very bad". I won't know if it was a complete or partial tear till after surgery. We have been carrying Dusky around for 2.5 months hoping for a surgery option and opening so we are very
grateful to our wonder Dr at Tanasbourne that Dusky has a chance to walk again. Dr will be releasing Dusky after surgery to head home today to begin his recovery journey. After all we are a Medical dog rescue. Every TPLO we have done here so far has been bilateral (both legs)
Good News / Bad News
We got a surgery appointment for this Wednesday for the tripod TPLO surgery with 33 hour notice to get him ready. The trip down to Tanasbourne started tonight with Paul taking him. We are very grateful they can see him sooner than later. He has not been able
to walk for a few months now.
I am home alone with the rescues since I am very ill and bedridden for the past 1.5 weeks. I have bronchitis and laryngitis. To boot Belle is having cluster seizures.

communities help more than ever. Our costs are mounting and funds are depleting. Please consider helping fund any of these previous surgeries or our current treatments for our current rescues. This will free up my personal funds to give Dusky a chance to walk again. Thank you! ❤

Dusky was a tripod but is now a bipod....
9 years ago he tore his left CCL. A lateral suture repair surgery was performed. It failed. A second surgery was performed and it worked. However a deep infection showed up in his knee shortly after which was
blood tests needed for regular care and special needs care.
Duskies care will be very difficult having only one back leg left but if anyone can cart a dog around for 8 weeks till his leg fuses back together and till he can bear weight on it ..... we can!
I really need the

Since the pandemic I have also treated issues like skin disease, infected wounds, broken jaw, fractured femur head, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Toxoplasmosis, Epilepsy, Liver Shunt, MegaEsophagus and tons of CCL repairs. Add the cost of prescriptions and
much of my own personal funds on many of the rescues care since the pandemic started. Remember these big medical bills?

Hope our surgeon in Tanasbourne can do his TPLO surgery $2,100 (best outcome) TBD
Hope the Grants Pass surgeon will take his case cost unknown but cheaper than local specialty (best outcome) TBD
Without a surgery Dusky will certainly need to be euthanized. I have spent so
backlogged they are not taking in new cases. I do keep calling weekly to see if openings are starting.

harness throughout the day, he's talking and wagging his tail (happy boy), I am struggling on what are his options since funding is not keeping up with our medical needs.
We used to do all our previous bilateral TPLO surgeries for $3,200 at Tanasbourne Emergency but they are so
determined (thru culture testing) to be MRSA. After a year of trying to save his leg with treatments and dangerous medications we found out that the infection had eaten all of his meniscus and was eating holes in his femur heading up towards his spine. Amputation was his only
option to save his life. Knowing his last leg would more than likely tear his CCL I figured I can deal with that later. Meanwhile he was pain free and the fastest dog in the pack as a tripod.... till a couple of weeks ago. The time is now later so as we cart him around in a
Remember when our epilepsy warrior was having daily seizures and many turned into clusters? I know her journey is taking years, not months like normal, but we are making good progress. MGF is known for taking in difficult and expensive medical cases out there. We are grateful to
since I wake or panic with any repeative sounds in a house full of other rescues (dogs dreaming or itching for example). Just look at this goofy girl right here. So sweet so happy so worth it. Thank you for supporting our sanctuary rescue Miss Belle <3 #Patience#Love
