“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world.
God is not a secret to be kept.
We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.
@Nigerian_Doctor This whole pharmacists vs doctors squabble is getting really old.
These guys have milked it too much🙄
Let’s move on to more interesting/ meaningful things.
People are making ground breaking discoveries, we’re here battling about who should or shouldn’t explain a prescription
@doctrLakes True!
It’s like you have to walk on egg shells around them because there’s a preexisting hatred directed at you for no fault of yours.
Anyways, we’ll all be fine at the end of the day. Hopefully 🤞
@Tochukwu_Abosi@Dr_Gbe1000@king_pearxe Can you even hear yourself?
Doctors should write their contacts on every prescription they give out?
Asides the fact that it is not practical, given the number of prescriptions they give out daily, it is totally unwise as patients would abuse the opportunity.
yes. she can press her phone. she can sleep. she can even be on phone with her friends. she can even take a walk outside.
bath your baby with love. you are not helping her. you are doing your part.
@Elejocomedian1 Tru Care is one of the best hospitals in Nigeria.
In terms of professionalism, excellent service delivery and good rapport.
I have used their services and have also recommended them to some friends, who have returned with glowing reviews about the hospital.
Nah HOs are suffering!
How do you expect to stop brain drain when early career doctors have to beg like peasants for salary every month?
Investigate the whole MDCN!
Later they want doctors to pay exorbitant fees for license ❌💔
@chokolat_mama Oh I was referred to as a journalist(I was the junior resident taking down notes during ward rounds).
But then, it was by a mentally ill patient so I just laughed it off.
UPDATE TO MEMBERS
Good evening distinguished NARDITES.
You will recall that the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) issued a press statement on 5th March 2026 strongly condemning the unfortunate assault on our colleague at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), who was attacked by personnel of the Nigerian Army while dutifully attending to patients at the Accident and Emergency Unit.
Following this unacceptable incident, the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD-COOUTH) commenced a 72-hour warning strike to protest the violation of the safety and dignity of doctors within the hospital environment. This action received the full backing of the NARD South-East Caucus as well as the entire leadership of NARD.
We are pleased to inform members that, following high-level engagements and interventions by relevant stakeholders, the following outcomes have been achieved in line with the demands presented by ARD-COOUTH:
1. A formal letter of apology has been issued to the affected colleague, acknowledging the gravity of the incident.
2. Financial compensation has been approved and paid to the doctor to cater for medical expenses and the replacement of personal belongings lost during the attack.
3. Deliberate measures have commenced to reinforce security within the hospital premises, including the engagement of trained security personnel and the deployment of CCTV surveillance across the emergency units.
4. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has also been reached for the immediate recruitment of additional doctors across key departments, particularly the Accident and Emergency Unit, in order to strengthen service delivery and improve patient care.
In view of these developments and the commitments demonstrated by the relevant authorities, ARD-COOUTH has resolved to suspend the 72-hour warning strike with effect from 4:00 pm on Tuesday, 10th March 2026.
The leadership of NARD wishes to commend the patience, courage, and professionalism displayed by our assaulted colleague during this difficult period, and we pray for his full and speedy recovery.
We also extend our profound appreciation to the entire congress of ARD-COOUTH, the NARD South-East Caucus, NEC members, and all NARDITES across the country for the solidarity and unwavering support shown throughout this period.
We equally acknowledge the timely interventions and constructive engagement of the following:
• Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo
Executive Governor, Anambra State
• Dr. Afam Obidike
Honourable Commissioner for Health
• Dr. Joe Akabuike
Chief Medical Director, COOUTH, and the hospital management
• Dr. Princeton Okam
Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association, Anambra State
• MDCAN COOUTH
• The Commander, 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, Anambra State
• The Director
Department of State Services (DSS)- Onitsha
• Other relevant officials of the Anambra State Government
Finally, the leadership of NARD wishes to unequivocally reiterate that any form of assault; whether physical or verbal against any doctor, is completely unacceptable and will never be tolerated.
Henceforth, any incident of assault involving a NARD member will attract an immediate withdrawal of services beginning from the affected centre, with possible escalation to regional and national levels where necessary.
We therefore call on the Federal Government of Nigeria to take decisive and sustained steps toward safeguarding the lives, dignity, and professional integrity of healthcare workers across the country in order to preserve industrial harmony and ensure uninterrupted healthcare delivery.

It is quite unfortunate that officers of the Nigerian Military will resort to physically assaulting a Doctor at his duty post in the Accident and Emergency Unit of COOUTH in Anambra State.
When it has gotten to a point where even defenders of the sovereignty of Nigeria see Doctors as punching bags, we must acknowledge as a Nation that something is wrong.
This will not go viral and ganer the much needed attention and action, but when NARD declares a Solidarity Strike on behalf of our battered colleague until the needful is done, you begin to hear voices of reason.
The Nigerian Resident Doctor it appears is becoming an endangered specie very rapidly, Nigeria and Nigerians should rise up to defend Healthcare workers.

Another reminder to my healthcare colleagues.
You are one of the poorest paid healthcare worker on earth but guess what?
That's not the worst part.
A lot of your patients hate you, apparently for no reason.
I don't know why but they don't see you as human.
They see you as a tool that is created to stop them from dying and fuck everything else.
They don't care if you have a family or even if you don't get paid, as long as they get treated.
They don't care if you're overworked or exposed to danger or even if you die while helping them.
The believe it's your right to die to save their pathetic lives.
Then, with the rise of litigation, they'll sue your ass for the flimsiest reasons just to escape generational poverty.
So don't let anyone gaslight you about any useless oath, do your job and go home.
I'll Repeat for emphasis.
Do your job and go home!
There's no benefit to being a hero to Nigerians.
An average Nigerian is a Serah Ibrahim but with less confidence.
You've been warned.
