Training the hamstring for terminal swing phase of sprinting through eccentric control, capacity, and agonist/antagonist coordination. These are key for building injury resliancy at top speed!
Last bit of prep for basketball. Band pull creates a somewhat chaotic landing helping train stability in the air and self organizing to prep for an off-center landing. This scenario in-game is the culprit for a lot of knee and ankle injuries!
Introducing as many angles and directions as we can here for single leg stability training.
Single leg postures are often involved in injury scenarios, safe and graded exposure is key!
The progress in this case is pretty exciting.
We have been focusing more on fascial mobility and coordination of the torso and pelvis and the mobility and strength progress has been amazing!
Make sure you're filling the empty bucket.
Too much of therapy/rehab mistakes coordination problems with capacity problems.
We still do capacity work, but make sure coordination gets it's dues, or this athlete will be off the track after first practice back with another strain...
Eccentric overload is a great way to stimulate tendon adaptation for remodeling and preparation for higher demand exercises like sprinting.
Here working the Achilles after repair in this 200m sprinter.
Isometric contrast work.
Sometimes pair these with plyos when looking for more explosive power.
In this case paired with a fast eccentric into iso hold for more force attenuation and tendon loading.
@alex_natera covers these contrasts in his @SportsmithHQ course!
There's a point where rehab starts to look a lot like training. Which is what rehab should always be; training in the presence of injury. Athlete or not, finishing rehab should not be the point where you are allowed to get back in shape. Finish rehab stronger and better than ever
Totally missed getting her first single leg heel raise since surgery π
So here's some stim instead
Right on the doorstep of strength/hypertrophy phase!
Hamstring rehab, maybe a favorite after ACL for me.
So much going on with these, so much progress to be seen, and too little time each session to fit it all in!
This was a ton of fun to do. Came together fast and really appreciated all the kids who came out.
Thank you @GumpertAaron for coaching bringing out the extra help!
Looking forward to doing more!
Neural and fascial mobility today for a thrower with some ulnar nerve issues.
This could easily be a part of most thrower's routines throughout the season to stay healthy and keep that throwing arm feeling good!
#baseballrehab#baseballmobility
Great time working with these kids on change of direction with @GumpertAaron!
Saw some huge progress in just one session.
Decel positioning
BPS and foot placement
45Β° and hard 90Β° cuts
Roll 90Β°
Torso and hip control
Looking forward to week 3!
Awesome progress today!
Pain to touch at knee --> running race pace again
75% LSI --> 96%
1.6 Nm/kg torque --> 2.6 π€
Shaping up to be a great season!
