To her from food. From having to over come struggles and feeling close to those we lend a hand out to. Still wish I could’ve learned her curry recipe, but I’ll always be happy I she at least got to sleep in her bed that night, and know people will still help you in a time of need
One time I helped this old Indian women with her car that was overheating at 1am. By helped I mean it was a water pump issue. So I gave her a ride to her home. We bonded over food and my love of curry. She gave me her number and told me she’d cook for me and teach me how to cook
She told me I was her family now for trying to help her and caring enough to stay with her. I never reached out or learned how to cook from her, and it’s a massive regret I have every now and again. It’s insane, I think about this elderly women sometimes and how I felt connected
