Opinions are my own. References to securities are not recommendations/solicitations to buy/sell. Mostly satire.
Much to love here. $AT1
- $10b of disposals since 2020 in frozen market at book value.
- 64% discount to nav, highest yield amongst peers, the most diversified, modest leverage, good cash flow.
Viceroy is LONG Aroundtown wile the market sleeps.
Viceroy Research reversed its stance on Aroundtown (AT1:DE), from investigating it as a potential short to initiating a long position. The stock is deeply undervalued. $AT1 #aroundtown 1/
@visionoilandgas@CoyoteKn0wsBest@APompliano Yeah, I wouldn't piss off Josh.
He said he had an oily rig and threatened was going to smoke me like a cigar (something along those lines).
$CBG - The FCA letter is brutal. While Close Brothers defies logic & insists a £320m provision is adequate, @TheFCA says it's aware of our reports regarding the [in]adequacy of Close's provisioning & disclosures. Confirming they will engage auditors directly...1/2
$VEDL
June 2: @Vedanta_Group announced the ED had "visited" some of its offices.
June 4: disclosed a 3-day FEMA enforcement search, which was still active & on-going when the June 2 filing was made.
VEDL mgmt's credibility evaporates under the slightest scrutiny. @dir_ed
If you have to ask, it's still not a short.
But god damn, look at these $SIVE future baggies. They have no original thoughts, just chat GPT thoughts...
The must be one braincell floating around the inside of this guy's head like the DVD screensaver
On the $SIVE insider sale making the rounds. Let me frame it honestly.
Reported sale: ~100M SEK (~$10M USD). Per public reporting in the replies, the seller is a Managing Director of the Wireless division. Not the CEO. Not the CFO. Not on the photonics / CPO side. Not a board member.
A few things worth saying out loud:
- $10M against a ~$2B market cap is roughly 0.5% of float. Not a tape-shifting print.
- The seller has no direct insider visibility into the CPO and photonics business — the side that's actually driving the bull thesis. He runs the Wireless segment.
A wireless-division MD selling some shares after a 20x run is not a thesis signal. It's a personal financial planning decision after a generational move.
The executives who DO have direct visibility into the photonics roadmap — CEO Vickram Vathulya, CFO Heine Thorsgaard, and the CPO/photonics leadership — have not been selling. Per the May 11 raise framework, senior leadership has been under lock-up restrictions.
Look at who's selling vs who's holding:
Selling: A wireless-division executive after a 20x stock move
Holding: The photonics / CPO leadership driving the GlobalFoundries deal, the Ayar Labs partnership, the Jabil 1.6T program, and the Nasdaq dual listing
Those are two completely different signals.
Seems like some of the nasty short sellers have gone from popping bubbles to ranking them.
Conviction is expensive.
Viceroy is still cooking. Watch this space. @viceroyresearch
Fee Fi Fo FEMA - Vedanta Gets Raided
Vedanta Limited was raided by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) this morning, allegedly relating to FEMA violations stemming from "brand fees" paid to UK-based parent Vedanta Resources Limited (VRL). $VEDL $HZL 1/
A Los Angeles federal jury has found Andrew Left guilty of market manipulation. He used media appearances and his company to illegally influence share prices and make quick profits, known as shorting. He earned more than $20 million from such trades between 2018 and 2023. Great work by the prosecutors in my office and @FBILosAngeles on this outcome.
As I said... $SIVE is not a good short (yet).
For example: look at this Bre-X chart. There was still 100% downside after it collapsed.
Another Example - look at $AMC
There are easier, less painful ways to make money in this market.
Somehow today, I am getting mogged for *not* shorting Sivers, which is up 30% on the day.
Make sure to follow @Mercantio as a contra. No one has been on the wrong side of my trades more often. They are truly exceptional at being shit.
