Nobody in Paul's time or even a century after his death condemned proxy baptism.
So let's take it another step; when? When did the "early church" leaders and members really condemn the practice?
Looks like starting in early 3rd century and not solidifying across the church until late 4th century.
Am I wrong?
I would just say that isn't very early and your point is moot at best
Truly, Jesus Christ is the way to peace in this world, and eternal life in the world to come. He knows and loves each of us perfectly, and invites us to walk with Him, abide in Him, and follow His example of ministering to others one by one in charity and love.
We have been reminded of the central role of marriage and families in our Heavenly Father’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children. May we demonstrate the pure love of Christ in our families, in our communities, and in all of our interactions with God’s children.

Joseph Smith was the Lord’s instrument in the Restoration in this dispensation. But what did the Lord restore through him?
Here is a very brief list of the massive additions the Lord inspired the Prophet Joseph to make to the fullness of Christian doctrine:
1.The nature of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost.
2.The relative functions of these three members of the Godhead and Their relationship to mortal beings.
3.The nature of the Fall of man.
4.The purpose of mortal life in furtherance of the Father’s plan for His children to attain their eternal destiny.
5.The role of the Atonement of Jesus Christ in assuring immortality and providing the opportunity for eternal life.
6.The role of earthly and eternal marriage in the Father’s plan.
7.The role of priesthood and ordinances in the Father’s plan.
8.The role of proxy ordinances and temples in the Father’s plan.
9.The knowledge that God desires to save all of His children and that every person who has lived upon this earth—whether then knowing of Jesus Christ or not—is capable of attaining the highest glory hereafter.
10.The relationship of the threefold sources of truth about man and the universe: science, scriptures, and continuing revelation.
Anyone who studies even a small list of the massive additions the Lord inspired the Prophet Joseph to make to the fullness of Christian doctrine must acknowledge that Joseph Smith was the prophetic source of an immense stream of bold and new and precious religious ideas.
The Savior has used the word “always” in two settings: You promise always to remember Him when you partake of the sacrament. And He warns you to pray always.
I am not wise enough to know all of His purposes in giving us a covenant to always remember Him and in His warning us to pray always lest we be overcome. But I know one. It is because He knows perfectly the powerful forces that influence us and also what it means to be human.
Jesus Christ foresees perfectly the growing power of opposing forces. He knows the mistake we can so easily make. And so He offers us the covenant to always remember Him and the warning to pray always so that we will place our reliance on Him, our only safety.
His promises are sure: If you will let your heart be drawn to the Savior and to our Heavenly Father in prayer, you will always have the Spirit to be with you.
Sure, but there is a ton of smearing going around for reasons that don't matter.
Core doctrinal difference can matter but as I said, we both believe in miracles yet can't perform them like Jesus can. The "physics' don't really matter, but i guess you are saved now and I will burn in non physical hell.
Cool
And...
Yes,and all of us (you, me, skousen and young) believe Jesus walked on water. Yet we kn9w nobody who can do this now.
Who cares, obviously Jesus relationship to the physical is different than ours. He knows how to perform miracles, you and I are just trying to understand and to hopefully become like Him.
Anyways, does Jesus still have a body?
Is heaven a real place? (Has this knowledge "been hidden from you")
Do our different understandings of these details matter all that much? Worth all the shit talking about LDS folk?
@jeremyfirth@OrthodoxGabriel @orthodoxluigi "Subject to same physical laws that we are"
No LDS believes that.
We believe Christ walked on water and performed miracles, not quite bounded like us.
Of course you know that already, so fabricating falsehoods is an interesting move.
The worst part about people in white collar professions claiming they were work ‘80-100 hours a week’ is that they are all liars.
They work maybe 50-60. The rest is goofing off. And they stay in the office as a kind of arms race, hoping the boss (who is also not working 80 hours, but often has no life and nothing to do) sees them.
So it’s theatre. And it prevents people from going home and spending time with friends and family - for nothing.
