I recently graduated from UD with a BA in Communication! As I close this chapter of my life I want to give a quick shout-out to @FlyerNews@FlyerNewsSports for how much the experience impacted me. I’ll still be talking UD ball on here as I pursue my MS at Michigan! #RollYers
NEWS: Missouri and Saint Louis are working to finalize an agreement to meet on November 6th at Enterprise Center, according to multiple sources.

Sources: Dayton's Anthony Grant will promote assistant James Kane to Associate Head Coach.

Major changes coming to NCAA DI men’s soccer. The UD-SMU third round game in 2024 was absolutely freezing and I’ve been waiting for the tournament to be moved to the spring ever since.
Steve McElvene was and still is a beloved member of the University of Dayton Flyer basketball community ✈️🏀
10 years later, we still remember. Rest in Peace, Big Steve‼️
@sullymygoodname They are not allowed to move to D2. That’s why I mean without PFL there would be no Dayton football just bc I never see them going scholarship. But yeah the tuition keeps it profitable for sure.
For anyone wondering, when I spoke with Dayton AD Neil Sullivan in 2024 he had this to say about the program: “We’re just really happy with the Pioneer Football League and there has been no serious discussion about any adjustment to our conference affiliation in football”
UD is currently sending out more communication to alumni to fundraise for a football stadium on campus on Stuart Field. My question - do Dayton alumni want this?
@sullymygoodname Absolutely. As of now the only reason there is still a football team at UD (and I think it’s safe to assume at all PFL schools) is the existence of the conference.

With the expanded field the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball tournaments need to adopt the Hockey rule of needing to be at least .500 for an at large bid #MarchMadness
What the NCAA basketball tournament expansion means for the First Four here in Dayton:
- First Four expands from four games (8 teams) to 12 games (24 teams)
- Two different sites, one will remain UD Arena
The new format is expected to go into affect this coming season. @WDTN
Looks like the five-in-five is almost certain to be implemented. There will most likely be lawsuits from current players wanting to be grandfathered in so it’ll be interesting to see where those go.
NEWS: NCAA President Charlie Baker told ESPN today that he’s “pretty optimistic” that the new aged-based eligibility proposal will happen. The DI Board of Directors met today and will recommend to not implement this rule retroactively for graduates/exhausted eligibility. “If you’ve used up your eligibility, you’ve used it up,” Baker told ESPN of the tenor of the discussion.
