@DrInsensitive@RepThomasMassie "Chemiphobia". Sweet. I'll add that to my long list of phobias and isms. I would have no problem with most everyone consuming modern food-like substances if I did not have to pay for the consequences. Unfortunately, government "compassion" will make me pay.
@CatholicFQ@TheLastRefuge2 No. When Republican voters think they are asking elected Republicans for things they are asking paid representatives of the large donors. The same donors buy Democrats, so this makes those Republicans look the same.
Reminder that if you are Anglo-Saxon, your heritage is Catholicism, not Protestantism.
Your ancestors were Catholic for over 1000 years before a few greedy kings and princes took advantage of an extremist religious separatist movement in the 1500โs in order to grab power and steal church property.
They - violently - force converted your ancestors, wiped out a millennium of art & culture, and brainwashed you to believe that this novel religion was your heritage all along and that your ancestors were merely subjected to the one they practiced for centuries.
@DrInsensitive@RepThomasMassie I'll take that if I'm given an out. Don't force vaccines or pesticides on me. But if you force them on me than I'm all for destroying them.
@FeserEdward We will only ever have economic conditions that augment our oligarchs' acquisition of power and money. They run things to their benefit and will continue to do so until stopped by force.
Every enterprise that employs women in male roles must slow down to accommodate their physical and emotional frailty.
I could prove it, but I don't have to, because you weren't born yesterday.
What is a "baptism class". Is this some recent thing, newer even that "Pre-Cana"? My youngest is only 13 and I've never heard this mentioned in any of the parishes I've been a member of. Is it a requirement to have "baptism class" only after birth? Why in the world should it delay a baptism?
They donโt want Elon Musk to give his trillion to the poor.
They want Elon Musk to give his trillion to them so they can take their cut, split it with their comrades and causes, then look virtuous by throwing to the poor whatever scraps remain.
I just saw the public discussion about Vance, not baptizing his children as infants.
To my Catholic Brothers and sisters, you should schedule a baptism as soon as possible for your kids.
One reason among many is the spiritual protection of your child. When we trace the cross on their head and claim the child for Christ, every demon, every angel can see that mark.
It matters.
For my brother priests, I beg you
in the name of Jesus, stop prohibiting baptism until parents jump through hoops.
I buried an infant this week whose pastor refused baptism for them. Enough with trying to control and protect yourself from feeling used.
Enough with the nonsense of โprotecting the sacramentโ.
Jesus doesnโt need you to protect him, but he does need you to protect the souls of these little ones.
If parents come to you seeking baptism for their child, you do it.
It seems that the SSPXโs strategy is to force the Pope to excommunicate them as schismatics so that the very next day, they can apply for interfaith dialogue, be met in the Vatican by an official delegation, get treated like royalty, pray with the pope (with a photo-op), and perform formal liturgical functions in St. Peterโs.
Or, does this only work for Anglican women larping as bishops?
