@nithyavraman You know it’s rigged to force Pratt out. I hope you realize you will not win. You are a pawn. Not sure what you’ve been promised for this role, but it will not fair well in the end. Sad that this is the level the great county of LA has been to.
@Truegreta Actually, you might want to dive a little deeper. The McMillan Plan & Olmstead had a greater influence. This is a photo from the 1960s. Wasn’t a deep dark sesspool then either.
@GuntherEagleman Martina testified for the Fake Acts Bill a couple of years ago. It just happened to get resurrected again on the 20th. I think there was some pressure that if they dropped out, magically this will pass this go round. Timing is super weird.
@MikeWalk519638@baker_girlie I was about to post about living here in MO as well. Although non venomous, we also have the blue racers that will chase you!
@emmamurabito I’m 60. I’ll take part of the blame. 3 step kids from ages 7+ when I married their dad. Road trips = gas station drinks/snacks $$$. As a kid, I NEVER! We had a cooler in the trunk, cheap off brand soda, sammies were PB&J/, bologna, potted ?, mayo, a splurge was Tuna Twist… more
@emmamurabito Part time jobs in school. Make them contribute on that 1st car, go over savings plans, make them choose their discretionary spending and have to learn to say no, can’t afford all that. We totally f’d up. Market prices are high because we gave them all the green light and continue
@emmamurabito Budget. Desire for gated community living, Ubers, Door Dash, mani pedis. Friends getting married and pre parties are $1000 a piece destination. Who at 23 can sustain this yet we’ve told them it’s ok, it’s just the norm now. We failed as parents. Burden their butts, get those
@emmamurabito Again, no jobs in college because we are paying for that education and we don’t want to over burden them. Everything paid for. Graduate and they get jobs and still want and pay for the lifestyle we had them in until 22 years old. And, then wonder why they can’t figure out a
@emmamurabito And, we went right along with it. No jobs for them in school because they needed to focus on studies, and club ball. Club ball was us with a stick & beat up ball trying to play baseball in a field. Then, college. Tutors for SAT improvement. Need their dream schools.
@emmamurabito Oh, and makeup & Babe perfume. My mom paid for my “necessities”. Those were not necessities. My kids, Bare Essentials, ProActiv and braces. Were these future supermodels we were investing in, no, just beautiful kids that were trying to keep up with the other beautiful kids.
@emmamurabito Keratin hair treatments in 8th grade, UGGs, LuLu’s, Nike inch thick socks in every style. My clothes in school, Gitano brand worn until they fell apart. I wanted Farrah’s red swish Nike’s & Jordache so I started washing dishes in a diner at 14. Had to buy my own car (and gas).
@emmamurabito Was it because we didn’t get to have all that? I dunno. I just know it wasn’t just us, it was the norm. Norm was also Abercrombie in 5th grade along with a new cellphone in 6th because they were on their own at a different school than the other ones I had to pickup.
@emmamurabito Gatorade’s always because watching DVD’s or playing PS2 in a moving vehicle can really deplete electrolytes. Jerky, Mambo’s, chips. Whatever. Then if we stopped at McD’s, another $50 or so. Birthday parties that were $500+ sleepover extravaganzas.
@emmamurabito We packed a cooler for 6 Flags trips and stepped out and ate at the car. Swimming hole excursions - cooler. We shared popcorn at the 2 times a year “show” … that’s a movie in a theatre city folk. But, when it came to “my kids”, oh no, it was $50 stop every time. Big Gatorade’s
@emmamurabito Kind of miss that last one now & then. Track in school was my main splurge because I got to choose my sack dinner stuff which was Green Onion Doritos (miss these too), a can Mr. Pibb, an a ham cheese loaf Sammy (tiny specks of cheese in the meat). Maybe an apple. That’s it.
