There’s a bitter irony in the New York Times reporting last year on Gaza’s hospitals being in dire straits while inadvertently photographing a member of the organization chiefly responsible for the war that put them there.

In the middle of the frame is Amir Muhammad, a Hamas member subsequently killed by the IDF. Hamas launched the war with its October 7 massacre, and Gaza’s civilians and hospitals have paid a devastating price.
