It’s amazing to me how few people - especially Europeans - don’t understand the very basics of free speech.

In a nutshell: if you censor ANY kind of speech because you think it’s “hateful”, your enemy can use that to say YOUR speech is hateful.

ANY kind of censorship (“hate speech” laws) is nothing else than a tool for the powerful to control the population.

If you hate Christians , you say criticizing Islam is hate speech and put those in jail.

If you hate Muslims, you say Islam is hate speech and put those in jail.

“Hate speech” is simply a blank check for our rulers to put us in jail when we speak up.

It has no actual substance. It’s a “send to jail free” card.

It’s bad.

Freedom can only be guaranteed if no one is in charge of deciding who gets the freedom.
