The idea that "middle is mid" is a significant exaggeration by the community. The Augusta backstory, which is the part they didn't like(recommend checking it out in JP). It’s only 20 minutes, less than 10% of the 3h30minute story. Calling it "middle" is an exaggeration in itself
Amist all the "middle is mid" debate going on. Can we apricate the beauty and horror of Murmurstown?
3rd best looking area after avinoleum and the black shore imo
@J0hnSemen @LegionzGaming Yeah, some people are exaggerating a lot. Augusta's past was 20 minutes, by Smack's logic, it should be 3-4 x 0.10 since it's just 10% of the story
Genshin players now need to C9 a unit to obtain the materials required to level up to 100. This event allows you to C6 four units, but it takes 1 year to go from C0 to C7. These characters are ALREADY WEAK TODAY (except Hu Tao). This is clearly an excuse to increase Abyss HP
4 free constellations for event characters once a year
• Once a year, you can get 4 free constellations for any characters, i.e., every 8 weeks.
• Each character can receive only one constellation this way.
• For this, the character must already be on your account, i.e., you can get a constellation for a character for free, but you cannot get the character itself.

It's very easy to prove that Jena problem WAS THE RATING
The biggest argument they give is "But Fob gave 7/10 and didn't receive backlash because he justified". So you're saying that you need to justify a 7/10 but no one justifies 9/10?
I agree Jena was arrogant AF but don't lie
Prime example of the biggest problem with the gacha space. "You care too much". Sometimes all you gotta do is ignore and move on. And more than 90% of conflicts and drama and negativity will INSTANTLY disappear.
The whole jenazad drama is caused precisely because of this.
I understand yr point, however, storytelling involves writing. The way you structure sentences and convey the plot, especially in mysteries, all falls under the writing aspect of the story. Ideas are simply ideas, but it's the execution that determines whether they are good or bad
@TenSaiYvellonia@Lunaremerald This is why people like Tectone can take advantage of limbo, their budget is much smaller and they don't use 3D or an open world to tell a story (even though most gachas fail to do that), but they are very good at explaining the plot without throwing it in your face.
As I said before, and I'll say it again, a story without good execution is nothing but a bunch of ideas being thrown away. Bloated dialogue is not just bad presentation, it's bad writing.
@TenSaiYvellonia@Lunaremerald Beyond that, it conveys the story effectively through gameplay, music, and visuals, like boss battle QTEs mid-fight, using these elements skillfully to enhance the storytelling. For example, music lyrics are written and shown on the battlefield during combat, telling a story
@TenSaiYvellonia@Lunaremerald That’s an interesting perspective! I’d like to explore why Limbo’s story is strong (I haven’t played the others). It excels in its writing, avoiding bloated dialogue, unnecessary exposition that doesn’t serve the narrative, or unnatural dialogue filled with impractical terminolog
@TenSaiYvellonia@Lunaremerald (1/2)I disagree; this depends on whether you view "story" as the modern academic definition (idea-based, which I find flawed and contradictory—if you want, I can elaborate) or the historical/popular definition of story as the execution of ideas through narrative.
@TenSaiYvellonia@Lunaremerald These issues appear in both HSR and Genshin, so I doubt they’ll change soon (cutscenes may help). Other issues, like poor visuals, add to the feeling that Star Rail’s story has great potential but is underdeveloped and poorly executed, which feels like a waste
@TenSaiYvellonia@Lunaremerald I didn’t play after 3.0, so I can’t verify if other quests had the same issues, but problems like terminology (common in Chinese games) and pacing with excessive expository dialogue have been prevalent in Star Rail since 1.1. Luofu was when I personally noticed issues with story
@TenSaiYvellonia@Lunaremerald (2/3)For example, a viewer can be disconnected from the story because of strange, impractical, or unnecessary terminology, pacing, and exposition, all of which are tied to the quality of the writing.
@TenSaiYvellonia@Lunaremerald (1/3)It's not the only issue, but one of the biggest HSR problems in version 3.0 is the use of monologues to present the world instead of interactions. Many dialogue parts are unnecessary for the narrative and harm the story's pace.
@Raspabollos1@DannyMochi1 they tried to to change de meaning of the word when they could just separate in story= content plus execution that would be more accurate without trying to redefining the meaning
I'll prove Gigguk wrong. Listen, would you consider a movie with no visuals—just a black screen with text that most people find boring—a good movie? Why would I consider HSR's story good when it has poor visual storytelling, no gameplay storytelling, and subpar dialogue?
Gigguk is correct. The quests are very long, but nothing in them is filler. Almost every single detail in those Trailblaze Missions is either foreshadowing or directly relevant to Lore/Story.
Could use more animations and fewer black screens, though.
@Raspabollos1@DannyMochi1 Sorry bu they can't, academy tried to separate both, but historically that was never the meaning, if that was true and pure story existed, the extraction of "pure story" would be the same for every person, isntead each person will creat their own narrative of what is story
