Tax audit due date extension is a concern for SMEs Practising CA!
The unfortunate part is that no one seems interested in resolving their problems within ICAI or the government.
A practical solution is to make the date 31st October permanent.
Our office can complete all audits by the 28th, but many will face difficulties! Nonetheless, I support moving tax audit due dates to a more realistic deadline that benefits all stakeholders. @nsitharamanoffc
#TaxAudit due date must be extended to 31.10.26
TAR extension is not a demand for more time but it's for quality compliances.
Quality audit is not possible outside date extension.
Aur ITR file hue bina Tax Audit ka kya hi benefit h department ko✅🫡

Tax Audit Date Extension
This issue is largely connected with human nature, and not merely with the CA community.
If the due date for Non-Audit ITRs is 31st August, it is only natural that most taxpayers do not come forward for their Tax Audit before that date. This is a practical reality.
No one had demanded that the Non-Audit ITR due date be extended to 31st August. And if this was done in the name of date rationalisation, then the Tax Audit due date should also be rationalised on the same logic.
My role here is only to place my reasoning before you. Whether you agree or disagree is entirely your choice.
It is also true that even if the majority agrees with me, that does not necessarily mean that I am right. But I certainly have the right to put forward my view with logic.

Either convince Leaders that demand for TAR Extension is genuine or complete their work by 30-Sep.
If you can't convince your own leaders whom you have elected by voting, then how can you expect Government to understand and extend suo moto?
RT if you agree.
Tax Audit deadline should be extended from 30 Sep to 31 Oct.
For small & mid-sized CA firms, especially those working with upto 5 staff members with TIER 2-3 City, completing quality tax audits within one month after the 31 Aug ITR deadline is practically very difficult.

Tax audit deadline should be extended from 30 Sep to 31 Oct.
A one-month gap after the ITR filing deadline of August 31 seems too short for many CA firms to complete their tax audits.

So finally, only 20 days are left for the Tax Audit Due Date.
Either fight for the extension - file a writ, make representations, start a campaign on Twitter/X and raise our voice collectively.
Or simply accept the deadline and move on.
But if we want an extension, this is the time to act.
@INCIndia "iss farjiwaare me CA shaamil hai..".. kyn bhai farjiwaare ki baat aayi th advocates ko side kr diya.. advocates ko bhi corrupt bol kr dikhao.. apne aap ko kyn chor diya bhaiya aapne
@INCIndia And what about the corrupt bureaucrats and politicians why are you not talking about them.. As everyone knows.. sab neta chor hai.. and sab income tax and gst me baithe officers bhi sant nai hai.. let's generalise this also

One month gap between ITR due date and Tax Audit due date is simply impractical!!
Practising CAs remain involved in ITR filing till 31st August and the same professionals are also responsible for completing Tax Audits thereafter.
Ground reality is that majority of practising CA firms do not have completely separate teams for ITR filing and Tax Audit work. The same professional handle both compliances.
Tax Audit is not merely a filing exercise,it requires detailed verification, reporting, professional judgement and due diligence.
Such decisions can often be avoided if stakeholders are consulted before finalising the compliance framework.

Every CA has a limit of 60 Tax Audits for a year.
But is it possible to sign 60 Tax Audit in 30 days timeframe ?
That means covering 2 Tax Audit in a day.
I sincerest request for extending Tax Audit deadline to 31st Oct permanently to avoid chaos.
My heart is 100% sure that the Tax Audit Due Date will be extended.
I have received so many messages from fellow CAs who are genuinely panicked and stressed about the Tax Audit deadline.
Let’s be practical.
The non-audit ITR deadline was 31st August this year, and the Tax Audit work effectively starts thereafter. Expecting professionals to complete the entire Tax Audit exercise for all their clients within just 30 days is simply not practical.
This is not about anyone wanting to delay work or avoid responsibility. We are working day and night. But the practical challenges of this year are real, and many of them were beyond the control of professionals.
My only concern is the late extension notification.
If the Government has to extend the deadline, please announce it well in advance so that thousands of professionals can plan their work instead of working under unnecessary anxiety and uncertainty.
We don't deserve this level of stress after putting in everything we have during the ITR season.
To all fellow CAs feeling overwhelmed right now... stay calm.
Keep working. We will get through this like always. 🤝🙏🏻
No one demanded an extension of the 31st July or 31st August due dates because sufficient time was available.
But completing Tax Audit within one month is practically impossible. Quality audit requires proper verification, review and reporting
