If you have people who are not football professionals thinking they know how to run football then screw ups will be the consequence.

If you have owners who think that a culture of bullying, mistrust and backstabbing are the way to run United, and that staff are expenses to be cut rather than assets to build success, then underperformance will be the consequence.

Since SAF left United as manager they are third in the player purchase cost total but ninth in the player sales, so on a net basis they end up top, which makes it more difficult to recruit going forwards.
