@TweetAtRuthy spoke about the many challenges facing South Africa, and how she and @yfmpas worked tirelessly to increase ocean protection. She highlighted how this led to South Africa approving an increase from 0.4% to 5% #MPAs in 2018.
“This is not a conservation problem - it is a humanity problem.”
@AulaniWilhelm emphasized the importance of caring for places and remembering why we protect the ocean in her moving keynote address.
As key habitat goes underwater in the face of sea level rise, NOAA is helping endangered Hawaiian monk seals find higher ground.

Last week was my last @UlsterWildlife, after 6 intense, but amazing years! I have learnt SO much during this time about the #conservation sector, others and myself as well. It has been an incredible ride and I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to have been part of the team!
