@galeabrewer · A constituent who lives at 320 CPW called me about a memo from her management company regarding Legionnaires in the water in the building. I immediately called the NYC Health Dept. Per the Health Dept., the building management proactively tested its internal hot water supply, which is something separate and would not involve a cooling tower. The cases on the East Side now and in Harlem last year all involve a cooling tower. In 320 CPW, mgt is being proactive, but to the best of my knowledge, there are no cases of Legionnaires' disease. There is no cooling tower.

@galeabrewer Marched with 32BJ SEIU in solidarity with the workers who work at Hudson Hill Condo, 462 West 58 Street. These workers have been fighting to join the union since 2024; they won their NLRB union election in Dec 2024. Management must pay prevailing wages because the building receives a tax abatement but mgmt does not want to. 32BJ attys filed charges against the owners in May 2025 for unfair labor practices, and this 2/day strike is scheduled because mgmt will not follow the law. @galeabrewer This week, led by two of my fabulous summer interns, Phoebe Adler and Miranda Ewing (from Middlebury College and University of Virginia, respectively), my staff and interns emBARKed on our 2026 West Side Tree Bed Survey! H/T to Sam Bishop at Trees New York for his assistance in creating this survey. We have made terrific progress so far - 800+ tree beds surveyed, over 30 of which were empty! @ninarobertsnyc @guardian This is not new. Unscrupulous law firms have found targets - small businesses - over decades. Businesses should not pay - contact SBS and Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities. Law firms are not interested in ADA, just money.
