Amdo people, don't let the curse of tibetan cult bewild you. Like we did before. After qing dynasty collspe. There were group of amdo tribe decide to convert to islam. They made the right decision. Even communist win the war eventually but their decision was on behalf of us.

There is a reason why dalailama didn't want indepedence instead of autonomy. Because tibet is shit. It was a slaver theocracy and still is. Any tibetan's neighbores except for china is so much better. The best outcome for tibet is to be conquered by mogols or manchu or turks.

Without western market. China can no longer gain high profits from trade like they used to. But tibet government in exile is probably even worst. Right now, they can maintain their superficial "democratic" government but truely a theoracy like iran.

How the Yugurs preserved ancient Turkic Tengrism:

The supreme god of the Yugurs is called Tengri or Khan Tengri (Emperor of Heaven)

Yugurs have the most intact Tengrist religious system from the ancient Turkic Khaganates, even more than Siberian Turks like the Tuvans or Sakha

This is because following the collapse of the Uyghur Khaganate, they were able form a successor state called the Ganzhou Uyghur Khaganate, in the area bordering the Tibetan Plateau and the Gobi Desert

The Ganzhou Uyghur Khaganate lasted until 1036

For context, Turkic rule of Anatolia began in 1071, following the Battle of Manzikert. This means Yugur clans from the First Turkic Khaganate were still practicing Tengrism during the time of the Seljuks

Despite the dissolution of the Ganzhou Uyghur Khaganate by the Tangut people, the Yugur tribes remained intact and continued their traditions as a clan confederation

In the left picture, you can see Yugur Tengrist priests praying to Khan Tengri by making camel milk libations

Every year, thousands of Yugurs pray to Khan Tengri out of gratitude for the establishment of the Ganzhou Uyghur Khaganate and allowing their bloodline to continue

As a part of the offering to Khan Tengri, the Yugur priests race a camel around the Gobi Desert to represent the safe passage that Tengri blessed the Yugurs with when they crossed the Gobi Desert to move out of the Eurasian Steppe into the Tibetan Plateau
