Went for a walk round Loch Trool today and came across trees hacked down and damaged to be used to set camp fires. Im ashamed to share this planet with brainless idiots who do this. 😡
25 years old today! On 22 June 1996 The Swallow Theatre hosted its first official event. Founders David & Jill Sumner had held informal play readings and performances in the garden for friends until following their dream to build their own theatre.

We are heartbroken at the death of our trustee and former chair Anne Brown. Anne was the definition of selfless. Present at the first festival, she rolled up her sleeves and worked tirelessly to support the staff...
@Gallovidian @churchscotland Have just learned - Kirkinner church closed for now. Service at Mochrum 11am today, 11am next week at Sorbie - alternating until further notice.
This summer we’re putting on a series of open air shows in the garden. We've designed an outdoor space using semi-open marquees which will be theatrical, festive and a great summer venue for plays and music. Here’s an idea of what it will look like.

Police have launched an appeal for information about Ryan Cairns, who is from Newton Stewart but has thought to have travelled to Glasgow. He hasn't been seen since Monday and there is 'growing concern' for him. Have you seen him?

@dgcouncil@GallowayPolice To whom do I report obstructed pavements in Newton Stewart? Pavement outside shop on Victoria St, opposite Co-op has been obstructed all day with empty pallets and boxes (2nd time this week) plus collapsed A-board.
In the Whithorn area - please look out for Pippen the Ridgeback - missing since earlier today; last seen on the Monreith Estate nr Drumtrodden. She is very nervous, so do not approach... maybe try tempting with treats. Any info to https://t.co/HrgTzZLnhN
'The Vault' applied for a licence to open their recently rejuvenated outdoor space for music events etc. but it was rejected (despite having only one public objection). If you think this project would benefit the town by boosting visitors and trade, then lobby your councillors!
@GaryinScotland@sallyhinch There's always the Household Recycling Centre on the Girvan Road in Newton, or just outside Whithorn - a skip for everything!

Please, whenever our local businesses are finally able to re-open their doors, do make an effort to support them rather than just carry on using Amazon!
It is still not clear exactly when we will be able to re-open our shop - but it looks unlikely to happen much before the end of April. Let's all do whatever we can to speed the drop in infections so some kind of normality can resume. #lockdownroadmap
