First impressions of Zelda Echoes: probably my favourite 2D Zelda. They added a lock on, FINALLY, and the controls feel so much better.

I’m having a lot of fun with it, and I’m already hoping the next 3D Zelda copies some of its ideas.

Like I get it, Nintendo has some draconian, anti consumer practices. But they don’t commit blatant character design plagiarism, which undermines the artistic integrity of the entire medium.

also the "leaked" design being identical to the OLED model makes sense. The OLED model may have originally been intended to be a "Switch 1.5" that they backtracked on because of the pandemic and things not lining up. Which would explain why it was such a high effort redesign.

With the Switch 2 rumours going around: if the joycons do end up getting redesigned, then one major change I'd like to see would be replacing the "+/-" buttons so they're circular with an indent.

The sharp edges are super uncomfortable.
