Interesting to see @IBAS_UK acknowledge over 3,700 cases of likely social responsibility failings where neither they or @GamRegGB could help individuals. Majority of cases £5,000+
Legacy of #gambling harm can't be ignored by new Ombudsman.

When did the Gambling Commission start investigating individual bets and/or complaints?
They won't do this for other consumers.

@indocine@epicpgc Thought harm awareness an interesting term.
Harm prevention would be useful to educate on.
Perhaps can do that when a Gamco sponsors for 5 years.
@spfl Prior to that in 2018 a £6.2m fine was issued by the regulator for similar issues: "systemic social responsibility and money laundering failures."
Over £25Million in fines, yet now sponsoring Scottish Football.
Tone deaf.
@spfl William Hill, the new SPFL sponsor just last year were fined over £19 Million for "widespread and alarming" social responsibility failings, came near to having their licence suspended in 2023.

Somewhat tone deaf of the Scottish Football authorities.
William Hill - A gambling sponsor returns to be flashed a multitude of times to adults and children.
Scotland had no gambling sponsorship of any competition for last 5+ years.

@spfl@WilliamHill A step backwards.
Interesting the "education" will be around gambling harm awareness when gambling harm PREVENTION
is the better angle.
This education funded by the bookmakers too. Not independent.

Over £25Million in fines, for time not been sponsoring Scottish Football.

@derekwatson89 A £6.2Million fine in 2018 also handed out to William Hill.
Make that £25 Million in social responsibility failings in time not been sponsoring football in Scotland.
@derekwatson89@premierleague William Hill were fined £19.2Million for social responsibility failings in 2023.
Fined £6.2 Million in 2018 also
Systematic failures.
Not sure that's the type of image to have sponsoring Scottish Football?

@TheBHF@SkyBet Interesting to see the word 'BET'
appear 6 times in the short clip. Cleverly placed on shoulders of people.
The word heart or CPR used just twice.
The gamblification of charities continues.
IBAS should be no where near being a safer gambling ombudsman. They are not independent, have turned away 1000s of consumers wrongly directed to them for ADR for social responsibility failings. Complicit in complaints cycle of unaccountability. Concerning to see @OmbudAssoc there

"IBAS were unable to investigate 653 complaints in 2019/20 regarding social responsibility. We understand 100s who approached IBAS informally also turned away and signposted to
Gambling Commission, despite the fact that they don't investigate."
