@_johnegan Not a particularly in-depth post, but thought I'd share nonetheless: https://t.co/HzT54sMFMI
I will personally volunteer my time to develop a platform to crowdsource a #BIM standard as a community. Anyone reading this, feel free to reach out and we can make this a reality.
@_johnegan Absolutely agree that standards should not cost a dime. Over 3 years ago I blogged about this concept as I pitched the concept of a crowdsourced Revit standard. Although this was laser-focused on developing shared parameters, we can have a similar approach for a #BIM standards.
@E_L_Pol @markboulton I agree with you, but think about it this way... Consider the positive effect on the environment if we to eliminate thousands of commuters from companies like @Google, @facebook, and @Microsoft. That is more important than human interaction in the workplace in my opinion.
@m_bolpagni Emails need to be phased out in my opinion. They create silos, produce #digitalwaste, and are not suitable for project coordination. I have a concept to fix this... The hard part is assembling a team to execute.
@SG_MontanaBound@Twiceroadsfool 2019 currently has multiple builds as well. Maybe one easy way to test whether or not this is the issue is detach the arch model from central, audit, then save it. Then try reloading the link and see if the issue is resolved.
@Gytaco @bondbryanBIM @AndyBoutle @JMunkley1986@CaseyRutland@autodesk True or false: Revit in fact does support IFC. The real issue is the way data is stored in RVTs. Since every parameter is unique and has it's own fingerprint (GUID) it is impossible to map parameters to properties without the users putting in the effort.
@Nicklas_Oest @avelezsosa @tsolsen We could actually build this functionality into @OpenRFA. It would be great to have you join the discussions on https://t.co/HCWwAEMyNF and help us conceptualize more #IFC features.
@StewartGH1970@liccle_em @avelezsosa @tsolsen@Nicklas_Oest@OpenRFA @avelezsosa We exchanged messages on LinkedIn in 2017 discussing a standard set of shared parameters and IFC mapping table. Please reach out if you're interested in working together on this. Lots of improvements on the 2019 roadmap including a REST API: https://t.co/AdoDybx1Ap
