We've been hard at work the past few days putting together a trailer for presenting Aetheria at the Global Games Pitch 2021 event from @GDBAYcom! Congrats to our audio guys for knocking it out of the park with the music! https://t.co/0hVFoCnqmh #scifi#gamedev#indiegames
The opportunity for next decade is to progress creators into becoming creator-owners (and for all workers to become worker-owners).
Only then can creator enablement not just be a marketing campaign, but woven into the fabric of how platforms are designed.
@AvatarIII@trashcatbuffet@Battenberg91@JimSterling Also perfectly valid. I'm not about to gatekeep gender. The whole algebra metaphor is just meant to illustrate that there's a broader multidimensional space of valid gender expression beyond the basic binary spectrum model.
@AvatarIII@trashcatbuffet@Battenberg91@JimSterling Exactly. M/F is merely one axis, whereas gender is a multi-dimensional vector, with "fem" placing a lower bound on the M/F axis value. If you could measure "NB-ness" algebraically, perhaps it would be the one minus the dot product of their identity vector with the M/F vector.
@AvatarIII@trashcatbuffet@Battenberg91@JimSterling If you want a mathematical analogy, M/F would be one axis, one dimension. All NB means is that a meaningful proportion of the person's identity falls on some other, orthogonal axis, while the "transfem" label indicates their position on the M/F axis.

@zackfreedman I get it. I only included it in my introduction because it's pretty much all I do, just providing context. Thanks for engaging about it here.
@zackfreedman, a maker and open source enthusiast (who I admire, check him out) just banned me from his Discord for sharing a link to our repository ("promoting a game")? So what open source projects are people allowed to discuss? Only the ones that don't entertain people?
@zackfreedman Fair enough, I ought to have checked in first. Since it's my project though I'd like to know where the line is for future reference. Can I share renders of a new ship I modeled? Some code I wrote? It's not a product, there's no business model. Just art.
Here's another flowing clouds video; this time I managed to make the wee particles flow along! #indiegame#nebulas#madewithunity https://t.co/wuLd3vTcAL
Worrying about #Quantum breaking your #Crypto is like putting an ion thruster on your current car so that you will be able to maneuver to work when you move to a space habitat in orbit around #Mars.
Did a number on the #volumetric#nebula in Aetheria. It just about doubles the sampling cost but my 1070 can still render this at 60fps! More spacey eye candy coming soon! #gamedev#indiegame#madewithunity
@PixelMeSane I love hearing myself talk. I get paranoid if I'm ever talking into my mic but not monitoring the broadcast on headphones (e.g. during a voice chat). It's like, how do I know I sound OK? The uncertainty is torture.

Aside from that, it stores keyboard layouts as JSON documents, and supports importing custom layouts from https://t.co/1Cn3PwDz7P so players can always make it look exactly like their keyboard looks. It's definitely not a compatibility issue!
I created a new way of visualizing and rebinding inputs for Aetheria, via drag and drop. This seems so intuitive that it's got people wondering, "why doesn't everyone do it this way?" (1/2) #screenshotsaturday#pcgaming#indiedev#gamedev
