At what point do we accept that the games industry is in crisis and that something needs to change? The loss of talent this year is so immense and flies in the face of wisdom.
Looking back on my tweet last week, can't help but feel an amount of embarrassment.
We all want to celebrate the accomplishments of workers who created these works of art. The fact that so many have been let go, even after their work lead to success, cannot be ignored.
Corporate loyalty is unrequited.
Companies will lay you off without a second thought to save a pittance or to appease greedy shareholders.
Corporate loyalty should play no part in your career/life decisions.

Getting texts from friends impacted by layoffs this morning.
It is frustrating - infuriating even - to continue seeing people who strap in to do good work losing their financial security due to poor management.
The continued echoes of poor decisions made that >feel< avoidable.
EA / bioware will be like “we’re still committed to making quality games and can’t wait to show you dragon age dreadwolf <3” and then fire some of their oldest and most talented creators, including the woman who created the character they’ve turned into the face of the franchise.
