Day 24: Today's release pick is You Know the Drill. A bit surprised that a game that looks so fun and juicy only has 338 followers at launch. I guess the incremental space is getting really crowded.

@heyJordanParker I've been making lots of games, and think introducing players to the game is the hardest (and most important) part of game development. It's always super frustrating when players don't understand your game.
@heyJordanParker I don’t disagree. It’s a question if it in every play through or if not how you players can replay it. But that’s solvable, and different games have different requirements.
@AlcatorSK It’s a great way for sure. But every game is different. So I think it’s about finding the most engaging game to get introduced to the core mechanics.
@heyJordanParker Best thing is always when something does require explaining, and I always try to achieve this. Onboarding is typically better, but in some cases a tutorial is most helpful and expect. In Basalt I do onboarding and in The Devil’s Due I have a short and fun tutorial.
One challenge with The Devil’s Due: because it’s easy to learn, players often think they’ve mastered it. But there’s a surprising amount of skill beneath the surface. Not sure how to communicate that. The game is quite cheeky, but “It’s not RNG, you just suck” is too much 😅
Day 23: Wasteland Outpost is today's release pick. I love building up defenses to fight off PVE and PVP attacks. But I don't really have the patience for the bigger survival games. So maybe wasteland can scratch my itch.

Oh, making games wasn’t a get rich quick scheme? I think a lot of people leave the games industry for very valid reasons. And more should question if this is something they really want to bet their livelihood on.
@solanagemzact@KaraclanVed Seems like it was announced a month ago, so more of an issue of not giving it time to get momentum than being stuck, I think.
Day 22: today's pick is Unlucky Mummy by @KaraclanVed, a gambling incremental that offers a 1-in-16,777,216 chance of winning. I like those odds 😂. Fun hook, so sad to see that it is sitting at just 17 followers. Indie dev, dont't showdrop you game.

Joachim (the artist) and I try to push ourselves to ensure that every opponent in The Devil's Due is unique in both gameplay and visuals. Like this painter, whom you meet in the Pride layer of hell.
@Lesser_Games@ivangonlag@franticthumbs Japan has some really good Twitter accounts that typically pick up games early and give a good boost. So it's easy for devs to be misled into thinking that my game will be Big in Japan. That being said, 1200 is really good!
@ivangonlag@franticthumbs You want to start with momentum, not bleed for 5 wish list. Announce the game when you have a trailer and do it with at a steam event.
Day 22: Underchoice is my pick of today's releases. Looks like it has some nice new takes on running a bunker, so looking to check out how it plays.
