This Wednesday, October 2nd at 6:30 PM in Room 180, we’re excited to host a talk with A Square Game and Simulation (ASGS), a game development studio specializing in simulation-based training!

From September 27th to 29th we are hosting a D&D Game Jam with The Boulder Cats. This jam is open to in-person and online students and will be hosted in CMB 182B!

On Thursday September 19th @ 6pm in CMB 180 GDK is hosting a hand painting workshop, we'll go over how to apply 2D painting/drawing techniques to 3D models. If you are new to modeling or are a 2D artist looking into the medium this is the event for you!

Hey everyone! This Friday we'll be having our General Body Meeting hosted in the Downtown Campus at 6:00-7:00PM EST.

We have our Arcade Game Jam coming up this Friday that will consist of 48 hours of arcade game development madness. The event will begin this Friday at 6pm in CMB room 182B on the UCF Downtown Campus.

2) GDK will be at Geek Knight this year with our own table. The event will be on January 30th from 5-10pm on the UCF Main Campus located in the Student Union Pegasus Ballroom.

We have a couple events we would like to bring to your attention...

1) Our Spring Annual General Body Meeting will be on January 31st on the UCF Downtown Campus in room CMB 0182B from 6-7pm.

The meeting will focus on announcing upcoming events for the spring semester focusing on events such as Workshops, Game Jams, Fundraisers, and much more! After the meeting, there will be a social so if you want to bring consoles, board games or any kind of game then feel free to.

An upcoming event not hosted by GDK: The FIEA Collegiate Game Jam will be this weekend on January 12th-14th. The game jam will be hosted in the creative village on the downtown campus of UCF.

You will need to register with a team of 4 from your school or program in order to participate in the jam. There will be 2 categories for the jam which one can register for: Undergraduate and Graduate/Professional.

The workshop will be focused on establishing strong industry connections right here in Orlando.

Next Tuesday on October 3rd we will have our Game Music Workshop hosted by Jacob Angelino. The Workshop will be from 6-7PM in CMB room 180 on the UCF Downtown Campus.

Try to attend if you have any interest in learning about music in game development such as music composition, music arrangement, and sound selection using FL Studio. This workshop will require you bring a laptop with FL Studio installed to follow along.
