@slopa_io One interesting thing I've heard is that MMO economies can experience inflation as the player base grows, just like real-world economies.
Managing an MMO economy almost sounds like running a small country. That's one reason I'd love to try making one so
@slopa_io Even 1,000 daily active players would be amazing! It's exciting to think that a small society could form inside a world you created yourself.
@RandomGamesGen1 I can't really tell how the gameplay works from the footage yet, but the graphics definitely look beautiful. It seems like a lot of work has gone into this!
Are you using Unreal Engine?
@The_SeveredGods If you'd made a game like this 20 years ago, it might have turned into something huge. These days we're surrounded by so many high-quality games that standing out is incredibly difficult.
@ShrinesLegacy I like this! It gives me Zelda vibes, and the pixel art has a lot of charm. The two-character adventure makes it feel different from Zelda too. I think this could appeal to a lot of people and sell really well!
@TravisLioyd I feel the same way, honestly. I've put so much time into developing my game, and there's always that fear that all this effort might lead nowhere and nobody will download it.
@XzeedDev This looks seriously impressive! Whenever I browse X, I'm amazed by how high the quality of indie games has become. If a game like this had come out 25 years ago, I feel like it could've easily been sold for around $40 as a full commercial release.
@TravisLioyd I'm really glad to hear that! I don't get much engagement on X, so it means a lot to know that even one person feels that way about my game.
There are so many incredibly high-quality indie games out there. I'm realizing just how hard it is to stand out among them!
@gear_notes_OS That's amazing. It's hard to believe just two people made something of this quality, especially without being professional game developers. It honestly looks polished enough to sit alongside commercially released games!
@slopa_io Supporting up to 1 million players is incredible! If you ever managed to attract that many players, it could become a huge business.
I'd love to make an MMO someday too. I don't really expect to make money from it, but it sounds like a fun retirement project!
@DannyLimanseta Usually, games are about defeating kaiju, but in this one you actually get to play as the kaiju! That's a really unique idea. Sounds like a lot of fun!
@animaps Maybe the most important thing is to keep learning and not give up.
This is already your fourth game! If each game takes around 1โ3 years, you may have been doing this for close to 10 years. Do you make a living entirely from game development?
