It’s very important to me that creators, affiliates and users that experience any bit of Selar leave knowing that a lot of thought, intention and work was put into it. It’s never easy to do that, but we LOVE what we do and you will FEEL it in the output!
I'm in San Francisco till the end of next week. If you're an operator in the creator or ecommerce space, I'd really love to connect over coffee or drinks. Please hit me up.

There’s this guy in my group who asked for a 2012 RX350. I shared pictures of five cars and also sent the VINs. He asked for the location, and I sent it. Later, he told me he was coming to my office to buy one, so I sent him the address.
A few days later, he texted me saying someone was coming on his behalf that it was his client for the car, and told me not to talk to him because they had already agreed on a price of 21M. I said okay, (normal level, I didn’t want to spoil his business)
So the client came with his mechanic to inspect the RX350. Everything pe che che… While I was in the restroom, I heard someone saying, “If the car can go for 15.5M, I’ll pay now.” I peeped through the window and realized it was the same guy.
When I came out, I asked him, “Abeg, is it this RX350 you want to buy, or have you chosen another one?” He said no, he was still pricing it. I left him and started heading to the gate, but my instincts kicked in. I shouted, “Don’t transfer any money o!”
Apparently, the guy from my WhatsApp group had already sent him an account number for the so-called 15.5M car.. meanwhile the car was actually 20M. The client had already opened his banking app and was about to transfer the money. I quickly took the phone from him, and he got angry.
It was his mechanic who told me he had been talking to that guy from my group the whole time. The scammer told him I was just his boy and that he had traveled to Kwara for Ileya, so there was no need for him to talk to me. He even told the client he was the boss, which was why he reduced the price to 15.5M.
The client insisted that I only added 20M because I wanted to make 5M profit.”that I’m a greedy boy, that’s how greedy Nigerians are”he left me and was talking my other colleagues, I told him, “Oga, you’re about to get scammed.” I even showed him my WhatsApp chats with the guy, but the client still didn’t believe me. At that point, I just told him, “Okay, go ahead and lose your 15.5M.”
It was his mechanic who finally explained everything to him properly in Yoruba before his eyes opened.
That’s how I saved him from being scammed.
