TradFi and digital assets are coming together.

At the New York @Equilend User Conference, the message on 'The Path to Digital Assets' panel was clear: the main players in traditional markets are building blockchain rails.

This isn't about chasing the trend. It's about building the infrastructure.

[Max @Game_Set_Max]

Looking forward to speaking at DeFinition Singapore on October 7 during TOKEN2049.

Lending is one of the most important building blocks in digital assets, and I'm excited to share how we're thinking about it at Galaxy and to hear from others shaping the space. If you'll be there, I'd love to meet up.

[DeFinition @DeFinition_evt]

Institutional crypto credit is scaling.

The mechanics are now sharper than in 2022, but has the risk actually changed?

On this topic, we'll have on stage:
Max Bareiss, @galaxyhq
Lauri Marekwia, @Valos_io
Sangrok Oh, @hyperithm
Wojtek Pawlowski, @AccountableData

Great conversation with @BitcoinJesusETH and @gregfeibus on the latest Milk Road Crypto episode. We got into where institutional DeFi is headed and why that matters right now.

Worth a listen.

[Milk Road Crypto @milkroaddaily]

.@galaxyhq putting $100M into @SkyMoney's sUSDS matters for one reason:

They’re not treating DeFi like a speculative trade.

They’re using it for treasury management, liquidity and collateral - the same jobs traditionally handled by cash and T-bills.

That’s a very different stage of adoption.

Excited to deepen @galaxyhq's relationship with Sky Protocol. A few things this partnership unlocks for our clients:

- Expanded warehouse credit from Sky, giving our institutional platform more room to grow.
- New tri-party borrowing structure tied to Galaxy's Onchain Financing Rate with exposure to more diversified funding and efficient financing for our clients.
- Continued build-out of the onchain financing infrastructure our 1,600+ trading counterparties rely on.

@SkyEcosystem has been a trusted partner as we've scaled our onchain lending business. Glad to be building the next chapter of that relationship together.

Tokenized-stock underwriting, according to @galaxyhq’s Max Bareiss (@Game_Set_Max):

• Look through the wrapper
• Understand who has control
• Underwrite the entire structure

Skip the homework and you may get “hosed” by collateral you never understood.

Your collateral trades 24/7.

Your custodian’s SLA says business hours.

A margin call before a holiday weekend can suddenly become 5 days of risk.

@galaxyhq’s Max Bareiss (@Game_Set_Max) explains why control means very little if the lender can’t exercise it quickly.

Max Bareiss (@Game_Set_Max), Head of Lending at @galaxyhq, and Jim Hiltner, Co-founder and Head of Business Development at @SuperstateInc, join Carson Cook (@LiquidityWizard) and David Golding (@davidbgoldd) of Membrane Labs to work through the answer.

The discussion gets into ownership, control, liquidity, custody and what lenders need before treating a tokenized security as collateral.

Q2 2026 leverage report from @glxyresearch is out!

The lending deleveraging cycle continues, but has been more orderly than that of past cycles. The gradual pace points to healthier, step-wise risk reduction rather than forced liquidations and counterparty failures.

$100 million*. That’s what Galaxy is putting behind the Galaxy Onchain Financing Rate (GOFR). If there’s ever an exploit, that capital absorbs the impact first, standing between risk and the people who trust us with their Bitcoin.

*With specific regard to any and all statement related to Galaxy’s commitment of $100 million of its own equity as first-loss capital, in a collateral loss of impairment scenario, Galaxy’s committed capital is intended to be drawn down prior to client capital, subject to all cases to applicable terms and conditions.

[Galaxy @galaxyhq]

Why work with Galaxy instead of managing DeFi exposure directly?

@Game_Set_Max explains how the Galaxy Onchain Financing Rate (GOFR) is a risk-adjusted blended rate across every protocol we're borrowing on, rebalanced as conditions shift, so clients get institutional-grade execution without watching the market.

Why have institutions largely stayed out of DeFi? The barriers are structural: 24/7 operations, auto-liquidation risk, and compliance frameworks that haven't historically extended to DeFi.

@Game_Set_Max discusses how Galaxy is building directly to address these pain points, including a KYC/AML framework for onchain activity.

Where did GOFR come from? I kept seeing how often our client flow was compared to DeFi, and realized the simpler path was to do DeFi on my clients' behalf: take the collateral, deploy it onchain, and handle the operations, collateral, risk, and rate management.
