@yum_dm I started diving into a new game, In the Light of a Setting Sun, but I didn't make it very far past character creation before life interrupted.

Congratulations to Viv Pixel Studios for placing 2nd in the Ozark Small Business Incubator’s EPIC Business Pitch competition! It is always great to get paid for all the hard work on your class final!

You can't imagine how much I hate asking for donations because it just feels weird and wrong to me. But it's pretty much what makes all these free #gameassets possible, so if you can and are willing I'd really appreciate any donation!

@reduzio To give you another datapoint, for the past 2 years at Missouri State University - West Plains my game dev students have voted 100% to use Godot for their projects. All of last year's Capstone projects were made in Godot. We've been teaching Unity since the 2.x days back in 2010.
@pigdev The only issue I've run into so far was trying to create scene tiles in the TileSet tab. I had to kick the FileSystem back to the default layout until I was done loading in the scenes I needed.
@piefayth@reduzio I would take Godot's 2D over Unity's any day of the week. 3D was a different story, but I will be the first to admit Godot 4.x has made some impressive strides in that area over the last year. Really curious to see what happens over the next year.
@reduzio I can't wait to see in 10 years what new engine everyone is dogging on going "Why not use Godot?". An anecdotal change I've seen, more of my college students are picking Godot as their engine of choice for their class projects. And they could pick Unity and Unreal if they wanted.
@reduzio It's the same old song and dance. I remember people making the same comments on Unity back in the day, especially after it made the jump over to Windows (originally it was Mac only). Everyone would whine "why not use Unreal!". The wheel turns, but people stay the same.
This hits even harder for mobile game dev on Android, depending on the engine you are using many of the newer versions of Java just simple don't exist. 🤣
I just backed d12 Monthly Annual (Year One) on @Kickstarter

Finally a way to get all the zines together without having to drop ship them all from Australia. 🤣The content is great and makes a great addition to any #DnD campaign, not just #osr/#ose games.
@yum_dm For me it depends on what I'm doing. If I am the DM, I want my black, bone, and blood colored dice. But, if I am a player I have a hard time picking a favorite one. Probably my gray and white d20.
Starting on the home stretch. Just under 12 hours to go for the #globalgamejam2024 site at @missouristatewp! Watch the games come in on our jam site page at: https://t.co/KKFYvzqnAV.
And if you are in West Plains, stop by our closing ceremony at 4:30 PM.

This year I've had just over 8,200 zine downloads.
I'm aiming for 10,000 by the end of the year!
But I will need your help to achieve this - so if you know of anyone who may like my #DnD zine, #d12Monthly, then let them know about it. TIA! #DungeonsAndDragons#TTRPG
