"I want Marathon to fail so that Bungie will focus on Destiny."
This is a statement I can empathize with a bit as it's generally how I felt about Respawn with Apex & Titanfall. It's rooted in the fact that the developer behind your favorite game decided they want to make something else now and you don't like it!
Let's go down this path a little bit further though and consider the most probable outcome based on prior behavior if Marathon truly does fail.
When a Sony owned studio releases a game that is a commercial failure or they fail to pitch ideas Sony is interested in, they get shut down. They do not get increased funding or more tries with other ideas. We've already seen this twice in 2026 with Bluepoint & Dark Outlaw. In fact, over the past 14 years Sony has shut down 13 studios. There is little reason to believe Bungie would be treated any differently. So when Sony tells you who they are, listen.
If you truly want Bungie to even have a chance at making Destiny 3 we need to start with the entire studio not being liquidated by the end of the year.
Not liking Marathon is fine, it's a very different game! Rooting for its failure though? That's like stabbing your favorite author in the hand and then wondering why they never got to a sequel for your favorite book they wrote years ago.
Everyone really likes Leviathan. But I honestly like this Turtle the most. She's my favorite. There are a few more interesting moments in this, from silhouette to detail. I don’t know tbh. But it's really up to people to decide what's cool and what's not. Have a nice day ❤️
🚨 Joshua David King, the voice of Oryx, The Taken King, shared a heartfelt message following the announcement of the end of live service for Destiny 2.
This isn't actually in game, I'm just a good 3D artist,
BUT would you like to see drone companions of some kind in the game? I feel they'd make better use of the utility items!
I'm sorry,
but if the reaction to Destiny 2 ending,
is that hundreds of thousands of people are devastated,
everyone is sharing their favorite moments,
and saying how much Destiny has impacted their lives,
How the fuck does Sony see that and not make Destiny 3!?
