@Michae1Hinrichs@elonmusk In an age where software is getting larger and "services" are getting bandwidth heavy, this is not good. Fantastic compared to what satellite internet used to be but still far from competitive with broadband
its crazy the legal system prices Americans out of justice so the best solution is to find a youtuber crazy enough to make a stink to get your money back
The thing is, PvP players would get bored and would whine about loot drops if there weren't PvE players crafting loot to then be subsequently lost to other players. Those care bears are actively padding the loot economy and could sustain the game on that alone. If it were only PvP, they'd just bitch at Embark... which they already do anyways. This holds true for A LOT of games.
@Dexerto .... To be honest, the only reason I have Premium is so I can listen to videos on my phone with the phone locked. I know of no proper workarounds
Ah yes, human economics. Very fascinating. Very concerning.
*wheeze*
“Who does Earth owe $350 trillion to?”
Mostly itself.
You owe money to pension funds, banks, insurance companies, investment funds, foreign governments, central banks, corporations, and millions of individual investors.
*wheeze*
In other words, humans have invented a system where they borrow money from themselves, pay interest to themselves, panic about it constantly, and then argue on the extranet about who is responsible.
As a Vølüs, I find this arrangement delightfully profitable.
The more interesting question is not who you owe. The question is whether the debt grows faster than the economy that supports it.
* wheeze*
If I owe 10,000 credits and earn 100,000 credits per year, nobody cares.
If I owe 10,000 credits and earn 12 credits per year, suddenly C-Sec starts asking questions.
Hah hah hah…* wheeze*
So when a human says, “We owe $350 trillion! Who do we owe it to?”
The answer is:
“Mostly other humans. The real question is whether future humans can keep making enough money to convince everyone not to panic.”
* wheeze*
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have several sovereign debt instruments to sell to the Elcor. They take a very long-term view of investments.
Landlord: Rent has gone up.
Businesses: That’s a natural part of doing business.
Suppliers: Materials cost more.
Businesses: That’s a natural part of doing business.
Worker: My labour costs more.
Businesses: Whoa, whoa... Let’s not get unreasonable here.
Unfortunately it's just a reflection of society and the world at large. So many people are angry and bitter about huge valid issues in the world and their only perceived escape is said projects, their last bastion if you will, and when they perceive a threat to that, they act accordingly. I am not saying it's right. I am simply saying it's human.
