To celebrate the Anime Soundtrack is now available worldwide for streaming for the first time!

The LN series started in 2006 followed by a Manga Adaptation in 2007 and an Anime Adaptation in 2008.

There are some articles reporting japanese copyright protection organization CODA is now cracking down on popular torrent site Nyaa which aren't really true phrased like that.

What CODA did was identify one uploader located in Japan allegedly seeding a NHK drama and got him arrested.

Now the actual relevant question is how they identified them. Generally one would expect seeders to mask their IP via VPN etc and CODA only vaguely mentioned a data analysis tool they used for it.

But anyways, I don't believe you can call this an attempt to take down Nyaa - not that it would be possible in the first place - but deter (japanese) users from using it.

The largest Piracy site in existence is now in the sights of governments to take it down

Nyaa the world’s largest anime torrent site has become the target of a piracy crackdown following the arrest of a first uploader (seeder) who shared a copyrighted work on the platform.

The Cyber Investigation Division of the Kyoto Prefectural Police and the Fushimi Police Station arrested a man residing in Sagamihara City on July 28, 2026.

With major players like HiAnime and other major anime piracy sites dead. CODA and other agencies will likely shift their attention to Nyaa in a bid to curb the copyright infringement that has reportedly bled the anime industry dry for years.

This could be the great burning of Alexandria in Anime form if it continues to escalate.
