The elephant in the room about mass shootings is MALE VIOLENCE. How many mass shooters have been women? Yeah, it's a real problem. And, no, I don't want to hear "not all men," or about the small percentage women commiting these crimes. This is a uniquely MALE issue.
Domestic abuse victims-survivors do NOT need to 'step away from the drama'.
This is not about drama.
Domestic abusers are using the same tactics on their targets as those used to break prisoners of war in the 1950s.
What survivors are going through is torture, not drama.
@coercivecontrol Absolutely! This is why he sped up the relationship, pushing for marriage and more children. This is absolutely why he’s always expected compliance from the children. It’s been ongoing for most of my adult life. I wish I could free us all
“Some”counsel working within Family Practice need to take a long hard look at not only their legal but their moral responsibility to safeguard victims. The aggressive win at all costs mentality endangers Domestic Abuse victims and children💔 #familycourt#familycourtawarenessmonth
@JDaviesPhD A therapist said he was concerned about safety while telling me he was unsure if it was domestic violence. Another told me I allowed myself to be victimized. one told me that by not harshly disciplining my sons that I was teaching them that abuse is acceptable. All harmful BS
In the US funding for violence against women is gender neutral. Often services also go to help the perpatrators of domestic violence. Just like the shelter in Colorado helped Brian Landrie before he killed Gabby Petito. There should be services funded just for women and children
@Laurak0214 the fear of my abuser makes my stomach hurt and my heart race. I wish he’d just leave us alone. I think its normal to despise them. How can you not despise someone who hurts you and your children for their own personal gain?
@notcapnamerica Bc women are tasked with loving violent men into better behavior and they are held responsible no matter what.
We are conditioned to love violent men unconditionally.
@mamasaidenough Same, they offered me family therapy and a consult with a lawyer. Any time I asked if they could help with post separation abuse they said I could file for an RFO (even tho my judge is a well known misogynist) or report the abuse of the children to CPS
@PViaterLawyer Even the women I know who ”get out” face relentless abuse from their ex husbands, either aided or ignored by the systems. Women who’ve spent millions to escape only to be forced to hand their children over to their abusers. RO’s and findings of DV dont even seem to matter
