@randyzwitch@StefanKarpinski MUMPS (and Caché, a object oriented successor to M), make it incredibly easy to write code that handles multiple processes and access distributed databases, even for non computer scientists how recently was he pro (like your father).
How recently was he programming in MUMPS?
@Patchality@BriannaWu It’s not just genetic abnormalities though. Conditions while the fetus is growing can also affect things. It’s not just a binary situation.
The world is not just black and white, and I think accepting people for who they are, showing compassion, is important.
@Patchality@BriannaWu And what if they are aware that gender is a lot more complicated than just X or Y? There are all sorts of cases, from having XXY chromosomes, or the SRY gene not being on the Y chromosome, or it being on the X chromosome instead, or other conditions.
@theo Given that COBOL, Fortran, Lisp and Mumps are still in use, languages originally from the 50s and 60s, I’m sure things like Java will still be used.
Languages for the next 60+ years? I’d bet on #RustLang and #JuliaLang (along with others, such as Go)
@RyanEls4 There are even languages (such as MUMPS or CacheObjectScript) where arrays start at “”, and can be indexed by any value (strings, integers, floating point values).
Wrap your heads around that!
@RyanEls4@DougVegas But that’s not indexing, it’s counting.
If you ask “what was the baby like in their 1st year of life?” you are talking about the time from when they were born until their 1st birthday - you don’t ask about their zeroth year, do you? 😄
@DoTheRightWing@akafacehots “Voted for in a landslide”? He didn’t even get a majority of the votes (49.74%), just very slightly more than Kamala (slimmest margin in 24 years)
That doesn’t sound like either a landslide or a mandate.
@StefanKarpinski Unfortunately, with the anti-science, anti-vaccine crowd coming into power in January, I doubt there’s any chance of this happening in the US anytime soon.
@NERDYXNiNJA In the Boston area, we have BBC (Boston Burger company), huge burgers, decent prices, and some great specials (weekdays at 4:20 you can get their 420 burger for $4.20 😂 Delicious!)
@Anaemic_Royalty 3. This was only 24 years after the end of WWII, which may explain their behavior, but still, the border guards were rather rude to a 45 yr old mother with her young kid, just for speaking German but not French.
@Anaemic_Royalty After a month and a half, we started driving back to Sweden to drop off the car.
At the border to France, they stopped us, and attempted to speak with my mom.
She tried English, then Swedish, and finally German… at that point they got very upset and finally waved us through.
