South Korea’s former President was just sentenced to 30 years for trying to impose martial law in 2024 to protect his power. It’s the first time this has happened in South Korea’s history. In one of our briefings, Kuda Tagwirei mentioned that he went to Equatorial Guinea in 2016 for a meeting with President Obiang and was given two oil blocks as a thank you for Zimbabwean soldiers who have been guarding Obiang since the attempted coup by Simon Mann in 2004.

When he got to Zimbabwe, Bonyongwe is said to have stated that the blocks should rightfully be the property of Zimbabwe. Considering that Bonyongwe was removed soon after that, can we ask, Mr President, if Zimbabwe has taken ownership of its oil blocks and how we are benefiting from them?

I stand to benefit PERSONALLY from CAB 3. By all selfish calculations, I should support it. Some have whispered, "Take the opportunity while it is there." But leadership is not measured by what benefits us; it is measured by what benefits the people. When I asked myself, WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE? I found every reason to OPPOSE it.
