I cannot blackpill anymore.
Even parts of my sub-culture are starting to embrace Slytherin design aesthetics.
I'm going to find my Harry.
I'm going to be his wife.
I will have five children.
this 82 year old japanese lady stopped me today because i was wearing a galaxy express 999 sukujan and we just spent almost an hour talking about showa era anime
Talia's gap moe is off the charts. The moment she switches on the screen on her mouth mask thing, her whole aura changes, and her whole facial expressions reveal the very upbeat, excitable person she is behind all the angst.
It's extremely cute that Talia has a digital display for her mouth, it brings a lot of humanity to the fact she's so far gone with all the cyber-implants in her
@planefag Reminder
They killed the grandfather of the RPG genre. ALL kinds of JRPGs, from JRPGs to CRPGs to the average western RPGs.
They did it by isolating and cutting them off from suppliers and contact, forcing them to sell it to EA.
Remember Origin Software.
Remember Ultima.
I asked 30 Japanese 12-year-olds one question.
"What do you think of when you hear 'America'?"
(My nephew's teacher let me visit his class. I was not prepared.)
"Hamburgers the size of my head."
"Everything is big. Even the milk."
"Cowboys." Then a boy asked me, "Do cowboys still exist?"
I said yes.
The whole class cheered.
"They went to the moon."
I told them only Americans have ever walked on it.
The room went completely silent. Respect.
"The best baseball in the world. Even Ohtani had to go there."
"Superheroes. They all live in New York."
Then a quiet girl in the back raised her hand.
"My grandma says when the tsunami came, American soldiers came to help her town. She still has a photo with them on her fridge."
Nobody said anything for a while.
Then the teacher asked, "Who wants to go to America someday?"
Every hand went up.
Including the teacher's.
Do you guys remember that one glorious week when the auto translate feature brought the Japanese posts flooding onto the timeline and we learned that they are actually like **the best** friends we never knew we had?
They were just ripping bbq, monster trucks, kfc, honky tonks, and literally the friendliest people of all time
And totally reciprocated too like immediately the American tpot started going nuts for samurai and anime and sushi and it was just this big cultural dab up and we learned that two atomic bombs couldn’t keep us from loving each other and all those countries we were allied with in ww2 were totally lame and ungrateful in comparison
Probably my overall favorite week on this app
@aelen_altria Russia pirated damn near everything in the 80s/90s and when those western bands came to play live it looked like this.
But remember "If you pirate you don't support the creator."
@JJyaiw@nodespaghett Ah, true... that's the dilemma with many modern companies, isn't it? They're not used to a software option that isn't mainstream, so those who doesn't subscribe to what everyone else uses is shunned, even if the quality's good...
Its just like Japan in a way, isn't it?
