Elon tonight on the Model S and Model X:
"Those cars were made with love; That's at the heart of any great product. If the employees making it genuinely love the product, when you genuinely love your kids, you care about things in a different way; You do things to make the product amazing because you love it. And that's what translates to people wanting the product."
Fadell says PM should own marketing. The actual trend is bigger: PM, engineering, design, and marketing are merging into one IC. And the hierarchy is flattening.
AI lets one person delegate across all four. Build through agents. Design through agents. Write the copy. Run the experiment. Set the pricing page.
Garry Tan shipped gstack and averages 100 PRs/week. Boris Cherny submits PRs through Claude Code.
Four years ago Elon Musk said managers who can't code are "cavalry captains who can't ride a horse." Turns out AI gave every PM a horse.
@felixleezd Experts have their place. But the "generalist" super power is combining an expertise with the ability to see the bigger picture and pitch in to support that - designers that can code, devs who know how to write great copy, marketers who understand technology...
lately, it feels like we’re doing a lot of things right, just never quite right enough.
your body isn’t getting enough movement, but running too much is bad for your knees. these shoes aren’t right. posture needs fixing. bread comes with warnings. sugar has consequences. protein is low, until it’s suddenly excessive. the paneer you’re eating might be fake. eggs can now cause cancer. the pillow is wrong. the room temperature is off. coffee consumption now has a correct timing. vitamin d is low, but stepping into the sun requires sunscreen.
skin feels dehydrated, but water alone isn’t enough. add electrolytes, but not too many. salt is bad, wait no it isn’t. sleep for eight hours without fail. nope, deep sleep matters more. track it. stop tracking. avoid screens. dim the lights. block blue light at night. magnesium can help, but don’t depend on it. lift or risk losing muscle, but lifting strains joints. yoga feels gentle, but not sufficient. hiit works, but don’t do it every day.
and somewhere in between all this, you also need work life balance. but these are your peak years. if not now, when will you hustle. there’s never been a better time to build, you know. but also rest. protect your energy. don’t burn out, but be ambitious.
every ordinary activity feels watched and needs juuust a little tweaking.
i don’t know if it’s being too online, too much content consumption, targeted marketing, or just a flood of well-intentioned advice finally reaching us all at once. but i think most of us are doing just fine. and it’s okay to choose ease over optimisation. to do fewer things well, and more things peacefully. track if you want, don’t track if you don’t.
maybe being at peace also means giving yourself permission to be a little imperfect sometimes :)
designers who are actually have the strategic sense to bring a product to market will be the ones who will have a seat at the table in a new era of AI.
most designers haven't necessarily developed that as part of their skill because they are too busy with autolayout and Figma variants these days.
the transformation is here.
People don’t understand, Starlink is gonna be just: ‘the internet’. Direct to cell is gonna hit hard. Basically all telco is doomed. Let’s check in this time next year 👋
The most amusing interaction for a Friday morning:
Stakeholder: "It's not working..."
Engineer: "Can you tell us what you mean by not working?"
Stakeholder: "We try to do something and it's not working..."
😂
nope, nope, nope
the solution is to reconnect with old friends you’ve lost touch with
start chatting with people in public, at coffee shops, at check outs, at gatherings
try new things, go to new places, instead of sitting home all the time go do *something, anything*
and use the apps intentionally and without expectation, not just for the sake of using them

Maybe it was obvious already, but it occurs to me there’s nothing that forces a corporation to seek optimal leadership. In fact, leaders are replaced only when they perform *really* badly. In this way, corporate leaders end up being the worst ones who can survive in their role.
BREAKING: Apple is pulling its end-to-end encryption feature — Advanced Data Protection — in the UK, in a stunning development after the government ordered the company to build a backdoor to user data. Apple is not complying. https://t.co/kHOHNA8Lo4
