So… apparently authors are supposed to “build a community” on social media. Do I need planning permission?
I just want a place for children’s book lovers, parents, readers and writers. Our writing journey, & why #KidLit is so brilliant.
If you’re new here… hello! #MGAuthor

@RossBailey1980 Happy anniversary, Ross! (and Mrs!) You get one day to mope—that’s officially allowed! Tomorrow you focus on the many (and you know there were MANY) positive comments. You’ve got this. The world is holding its breath for your story! (Can’t wait to read it)
Saw this at the Royal Albert Hall yesterday. So good. Geronimo Rauch’s “Bring Him Home” was absolutely beautiful—it brought tears to my eyes(truly)And Jeremy Secomb was the best Javert I’ve ever seen (no offence, @RussellCrowe). #LesMiserables
All you need is love …and a good tree hug—a severely underrated pursuit! Batsford Arboretum is a remarkable “living library” dedicated to the cultivation, study, and conservation of trees and woody shrubs.

MG fantasy matters because children understand something adults often forget:The world is weird! A storm can feel like the beginning of an adventure. Fantasy’s not just magic it’s: Who am I? Where do I belong? What kind of person do I want to become?

The books we love when we're young change our lives FOREVER! So every time you help a child to find a book they love, and encourage them to read - you are doing something incredible & magical & life-changing. And it will never, ever be forgotten. #literacy

When you ask people about the books that changed their lives - the ones that really made an impact, shaping them at the deepest levels, never to be forgotten - they almost always mention CHILDREN'S BOOKS. That's why I think children's books are the most important books of all!
I am so sad to hear about the death of Jane Goodall. She spent a lifetime teaching us that, as humans, we are no more entitled to our glorious planet than the animals she so lovingly protected. We have lost someone remarkable.
