We’re on the verge of a child care crisis. If we don't act now, millions of parents will be unable to return to work as the economy begins to restart and our recovery will suffer.
@TinaSmithMN and I have a plan to fix it. Here’s how we’re going to do it:
"Child care is like infrastructure...if there isn't a safe place for children to go, then their parents won't be able to work. They won't be able to open their businesses, and that affects every one of us." — @SenWarren#SaveChildCare
Please join @HouseDemWomen for a roundtable at 2PM ET June 22 on @BetsyDeVosED's #TitleIX rule to gut civil rights for survivors! We'll hear from Chanel Miller, @amandathomashow @wali824 & @Sage_Gaea about why these changes threaten our safety. Tune in at https://t.co/dEv9xy0ECB!
Our nation’s child care industry is in crisis and may not survive the COVID-19 pandemic.
That's why we're rallying at home to call on elected officials to do more for workers, families, and the child care industry as a whole. Join us tomorrow! https://t.co/EdSaVl0u2F
To ensure our #childcare system survives this #COVID19 crisis, we need at least $50B in dedicated child care funding.
Take action and tell Congress to help economic recovery by funding child care! #FundChildCare#NoChildCareNoRecovery https://t.co/jho0wXwEAO
.@NYGovCuomo's proposal for the investment of $65M in #CARESAct funding to support #childcare may be well intentioned but falls far short of what is truly needed to successfully reopen and sustain child care programs.
Despite being glad to hear that @NYGovCuomo plans to release more federal #CARESAct funds to help #childcare providers closed by #COVID19 and now seeking to reopen, #NYForward leaves out thousands of programs that remained open to care for the children of #EssentialWorkers.
