We’re still rocking a few hundred in five gallon pots but once June hits they will require 70% shade cloth 4 morning sun and full afternoon shade to survive here like that contained.

Had to do the other side today ;)
I specifically planted these #tomatoes on the north side of my house so they will get shade. I amended the #soil with eggshells, homemade #compost and two pots of soil from the tomatoes I killed via carelessness.

Started same day… larger ones were given fish emulsion and some liquid kelp.

I know they (tamarin) add nitrogen to the soil but if you feed the younger trees with fish emulsion and or liquid kelp

It will promote more foliage to protect them in the summer as well as larger more extensive roots!

@TamarindoGarden I’ve grown guamachil and Inga (both similar to tamarind) and watched seedlings respond to fish emulsion while ones treated without were slower to put on new growth.

@TamarindoGarden Liquid kelp is great for everything.

Any nitrogen fixing plant doesn���t really respond well or at all to fish emulsion after they are a few years old in my limited experience. It will make a noticeable difference in foliage for the younger trees I’ve observed

I will trellis them in a week or two after they get established.

@TamarindoGarden Spiders as crazy as they may seem are incredibly useful/beneficial in our trees and gardens. Aphid vacuums!

@KyleinAZ Man, they take out 3-4 trees at least every year!

I only manage to get rid of 3-4 of the critters every year. They multiply very quickly and will overrun this place :/
